The White House
泰泰迪小熊Came here on September 22, 2017.
I heard that the White House has not been open to the public since 9/11. When we went there, we could only watch it from a distance outside the fence, so the White House became a boring landmark. We took a tourist check-in photo to end our visit.
There is a big pine tree on the south side of the White House. I didn’t expect it to be a "landmark" as well, the "National Christmas Tree"... Well, it seems that we should choose to visit during Christmas.
United States Capitol
__We***42⌚️ Time: 8:30-16:30, Monday-Saturday Capitol Hall appointment visit is free, but the number of daily visits is limited, it is best to make an appointment in advance, we are 9:30 in the morning, they will give you a white stick on the clothes (see picture 1, the mother's chest is white, Green is the Library of Congress). There is only one time period that is Mandarin interpretation. I thought it was Chinese. The result was a foreign sister. I was quite surprised. I thought she could speak Chinese. The result was that she said English to us and translated it into Mandarin with translation software! Can't they find an American Chinese to serve? But what should be the matter, the young lady has a very good attitude, and she took the initiative to take a photo with us! The Capitol is a must-check stop for Washington. The whole building is also very magnificent and distinctive. The pearl-white marble building is a three-story dome towering in the center of the three-story flat-top building. The sculpture at the top of the Capitol is the free woman sleeve god, the Capitol Library. It is also suitable for punching in together, and most museums in Washington are free to the public.
National Gallery of Art
陌陌染MMThe National Art Gallery is located in Washington, DC and is managed by the Smiths Association. The building itself is divided into two buildings, with underground passages that can be connected or across the road from the ground, and a sculpture park is also included. Museum visits are free and are closed on Sundays. Originally, it was a pity to find that the Leonardo's real artifact was not open. There are more than 40,000 products in the entire pavilion, from the Middle Ages to the modern era, oil paintings, sculptures, prints, sketches and so on. It takes about an hour to visit here, there is a coffee shop inside, you can take a map to see the specific location.
Union Station
Ppalettes_nyWashington's Central Station is not only a major train station in DC, but also a popular tourist attraction, the station was built in 1908, the classic French building, and it is also the headquarters of Amtrak, the second busiest railway station. The exterior of the whole building looks full of retro atmosphere. The Columbus Round Square is in front of the station. The interior of the station is also very distinctive. Even if you don’t come here by car, it is worth coming in and visiting. The station has a variety of murals, super distinctive.
Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum
水水漫三楼The National Air and Space Museum is large in scale, covering all aspects of aerospace history since the invention of the airplane by the Wright brothers, including gliders, aircraft, airplanes, transport planes, passenger planes, rockets, planetary probes, spacecraft, and artificial satellites. It also displays high-speed racing cars and motorcycles, capturing the vastness of the sky and space and the passion of speed. The gift shop also has a variety of shelves that attract many people's attention.
National Mall
泰泰迪小熊Came here on September 21, 2017.
Between Capitol Hill and the Washington Monument, there is a long and narrow green space, which is the National Mall of the United States. There are many national museums and memorials around the square. Each venue is very interesting and you can spend half a day visiting a single place.
If you don't have enough time, it's also good to take pictures. These buildings have different shapes, and taking pictures and checking in are very photogenic.
Georgetown
Ppalettes_nyLocated in an old town in Washington, Georgetown is the main campus of Georgetown University. It passes through the old town and climbs up the mountain to Georgetown University. The old town is mainly a shopping district. There are various boutiques and restaurants on the street. The street buildings are also very distinctive. Full of historical charm.
Chinatown
MM30***41Check out one of the Chinese restaurants there, or dine at the hawker centre with lots of stalls offering yummy food.
Lincoln Memorial
__We***42[Value for money] It is open 24 hours a day and is free. Although we went there at 6 o'clock, it gets dark early in winter. But the momentum is still there.
But why do I feel that the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei is so similar to the Lincoln Memorial!
[Scenery] It is magnificent! Facing the Washington Monument! At this moment, I suddenly remembered Chairman Mao's poem "The country is so beautiful, attracting countless heroes to compete for it!
Washington Monument
泰泰迪小熊Came on September 21, 2017. The Washington Monument is located in the center of the American capital, about 169 meters high, using the shape of ancient Egyptian obelisk, tall and eye-catching, beautiful and generous, is a very outstanding landmark. The monument is surrounded by a large lawn, which can usually sit casually. During the epidemic, tens of thousands of Americans died of illness, and everyone inserted a small white flag for each of the past to show mourning, that is, in this lawn. It can be seen how big this lawn is. Because the monument is very tall, you need to go to a place far away from the monument to take a photo. On the edge of the high platform where the monument is located, you can sit and shoot. It will be better to take a photo at dusk. Sitting on the west side of the monument, facing the sunset, the sun is softer and the color will be better.
