GGuest UserIt was wonderful to have 6 EV charging stations at this motel. Even though it was only 7.3kW/hr, it is free and enough to make a huge difference on travel. I booked this location specifically for the EV charging feature. I used the J1772 charger.
The breakfast was standard continental breakfast and nice to have yogurt and fruit.
The only thing I would do differently is to request a top room floor. We were on the second floor and they do have high ceilings and large rooms, but the party above us was thumping on the floor, ie feet were running. We were in room 201 and I went up to 301 at 1030pm to talk to them. I told them we were getting ready for bed and it was pretty loud as they were right above our room. Although English clearly wasn't their first language, they said ”oh sorry!”. I thought it would start to get more quiet, but lasted until 12:30 am. Honestly, the rooms were dark with the shades closed and if they would have just turned out the lights, there would be absolutely no way anyone could be running around in the dark.
That was the only thing negative was the walls/ceilings might be a little thin, but I guess it depends on your neighbors and again, my request would have been a top floor to avoid this next time.
Beds were very comfortable, check in easy. And again.... Loved EV charging on site. Thank you!

MMozoIt was a pleasant stay here but the only downside is someone knock on the door early in the morning asking if we are checked out already. Then someone called if we checked out by accident. Then again someone knocked again asking if we are checked out already.
It wasn’t a pleasant stay if the staff keeps on asking if we are checked out.
We paid the stay and we expected respect on our stay.

GGuest UserPerfect location for our trip! We visited Buckley, Tacoma and Seattle during our trip and this hotel was no more than 20-30 minutes at the longest to any location we traveled to. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We had absolutely no complaints. Their Covid precautions were appropriate and did not negatively affect the experience. They required reservations to use the pool but we were able to use the pool easily at the times we wanted to. The free breakfast was GREAT! The breakfast attendant filled to-go containers with either scrambled eggs or pre-made omelettes, and sausage or bacon or both and a biscuit, they also had available coffee, a selection of juices, milk, yogurt and muffins. It was plentiful, convenient, and satisfying. Considering most other hotels in the area either completely forgoed their free breakfast or only offered continental breakfast with no hot options this was excellent. We will absolutely return!

What a great hotel !! Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Pool and hot tub were both great. Breakfast, hot and yummy. Check-in was quick and easy. Very convenient to the freeway, makes getting around to places of interest so easy. Parking was great and very safe. All of the front desk staff were so friendly, happy and helpful. Would like to give a special shout out to Robert, he was so sweet and helpful to us. If back in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

KkitsuanddateWe stayed in the Cottage just 1.5 miles from the main motel. It was a delightful cabin! Immaculate and well equipped, comfortable bed and a cozy fireplace. The privacy was the best part, well, except when the 15+ elk greeted us steps from the porch one morning! :-) The location is great, close to Mt Rainier entrance. Don't miss the hot tub-it's the perfect private spot to relax. (There's also a huge fire pit with seating by the Grill) Got a pizza from there and it was very good. Friendly and efficient staff made check-in & out easy. Tasty latte in the office, thanks Raven. Special thanks to Jennifer, she went the extra mile on more than one thing for us.

Ok….I read the reviews and was anxious about our upcoming one night stay to attend a concert at the Tacoma Dome. Check In - 5 stars, Marlene is wonderful, checked us in a couple of hours early and was just a delight to deal with esp since the hotel was fully booked the night before. Security & Homeless - We felt very secure, lots of remote cameras in parking lot and an over night security guard. Unhoused people are in most urban centres and Tacoma is no different, you will see evidence of this especially if you make the very easy 20 minute walk (straight road) to the Dome….we did not feel unsafe or worried at all. Room (712) on the 7th floor which faces the freeway (we were checked in early and could have had the other more quite side if we wanted to wait). We could hear a bit of Hwy noise but it really was not a problem….if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs and you will be fine otherwise I’m just becomes white noise. Our room was spotless (thank you house keeping) and fresh, fridge, microwave, iron, coffee etc deluxe king was category. Everything worked except the wifi which for some reason would not let us sign in, the front desk was aware and hopefully that will be fixed soon, we really didn’t need wifi but did use it in the breakfast room the next morning, which worked perfectly. Breakfast - The hotel was fully booked and it was still good, lots of staff (all friendly), nice selection which was fresh and plentiful, no real protein asides from hard boiled eggs, but lots of other choices of yummy mini waffles and syrup, fresh, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, muffins, biscuits and gravy, juices, coffee, tea and more…you will find something, but people with gluten or carb issues might not have many options. The breakfast area was spacious and very clean. FYI - There is a $75.00 dollar hold on your credit card for incidentals as their is an on-sight restaurant (we did not try it) and a small shop that you can charge drinks and snacks items to your room. The $75.00 hold on our Visa card was released back to our visa in 24 hours. Check Out - Easy Peasy, Dorothy was full of smiles and asked us how the concert was. Then we were on the I5 on our way home within 2 minutes. All in all, really nothing to fault, our experience was excellent and would stay again without hesitation. We went into our stay at the Gateway Inn with very low expectations after reading all the reviews here. We were more than pleasantly surprised when our experience was just the opposite. We had reserved this using points and from the time we reserved until our actual stay, the price went down 4 times so we ended up booking two nights for only 31,737 points. They emailed us AND called us the day we were to arrive to let us know that if we came after 6 pm, there would be instructions posted on the outside office wall. It was there, just as they said it would be. We stayed in cabin 28 with was very spacious and clean. It had two queen beds, a chair, a desk with chair, a large dresser and TV, 3 nightstands, 2 benches, 2 closets and a small kitchenette area with a microwave, coffee pot and mini frig. The absolute best thing was the bathroom which had its own heater and 6 hooks on the wall. When we came back from hiking with soaking wet clothes, shoes and fanny packs, we put everything in there, turned the heater to 80 and closed the door. We woke up to perfectly dry things! It is located pretty much AT the gate to Mount Rainier so going in at our appointed time was a breeze! When we needed more towels and a blow dryer, they took them right over to the cabin for us while we went to eat dinner. The WiFI worked great and we were all about to connect. We didn't try the TV but that's not why we were there. We were able to park right in front of the door for easy unloading and loading. I really don't have one negative thing to say about this place and am so thankful that our experience was a great one.

YYUHONGThe breakfast was good, and the breakfast was more abundant than the hotel staying in Seattle. There was a parking lot and parking was very convenient. There is a supermarket opposite the road, there is a casino directly opposite, there are many restaurants around, not far away, walking distance.

DDavid ChambersThey were clean and treat you better than most hotels. Give you privacy. Unlike most hotels. I know they had breakfast but we didn't make it for that. Laundry room was great we got most of our clothes clean anyways. The best time is at night to do laundry. It's open for the most part. Thanks you we're great
