GGuest UserThis is a lovely hotel! It's classy and elegant, and overall it'll make your vacation that much more special. The location is great, as you can walk to restaurants or other places in Luray. The Luray Caverns are a quick drive away, as is a Walmart and Food Lion, and Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap Entrance is close by. I ate at the Circa '31 restaurant for breakfast, which was reasonably priced (the menu is small with a few standard breakfast options). Free coffee and muffins in the lobby at all times. The Speakeasy restaurant is very good, and has various specials/deals each night. The bedrooms are small, but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, with an area for bonfires and hammocks, as well as a pool and hot tub area. The staff is very kind and accommodating.
A few recommendations for the management:
~Put mini fridges in the rooms
~Put chairs on the balcony so people can use it as a sitting area
~Something to provide more counter space in the bathrooms
I recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone staying in the Luray area!
JJIAThe hotel is located in the middle of the Sinatra National Park. The environment is beautiful. The rooms are separate seven or eight rows of wooden houses. The facilities are complete, the bathroom is small, the temperature is low in the morning and evening, and the place to watch the stars is good! The park buys a ticket for 30 knives and a car. Driving on the park's skyline road feels great! Breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, buffet or ordering
Bugs. Lots of bugs. Spiders. Bed bugs. Possibly roaches. My family and I were already sketched out by the appearance of the outside. It’s a run down old motel. We had to walk to our room thru a dirty, narrow breezeway resembling an old apartment building. We were put in the back by the pool despite there only being maybe 5 other cars in the parking lot, the place looked empty. As former pest control I always check rooms and bedding before bringing in my belongings. First thing was the smell. The whole place reeks of chemicals. There was a plywood board on the ground covering up a hole. Walking into the room the smell got worse. Went into the bathroom and found 3 huge dead spiders and what looked like a roach. Found a live wolf spider hanging out in the corner by the chair. And upon pulling back the bedding found a dead adult bed bug under the mattress cover. That was enough. We went to the front desk and demanded a refund. We went to the caverns and decided not to stay in town at all. Who could sleep in a hotel after seeing all that. We made the long drive home instead. Do not stay at this motel. It’s cheap for a reason.
