Excellent
GGuest UserFairfield is a fair hotel with a large room with the usual fridge, microwave , coffee in the room. The furnishings were of modern style with a long desk combo dominating one side wall of the room. This left no room or surface to open suitcases on. Bathroom was cramped, poorly lit and had a single handle faucet that streamed water until pressed down firmly. Breakfast was included and was very good.

Checkin took about 10 minutes, mostly due to other guests, who had things stored on their phone (AAA cards) and couldn’t find them. Room 312 was large, but with a small bathroom. At first, the microwave, TV and some lights didn’t work, but a nice maintenance man came and fixed them all (previous guest had unplugged them). Lots of people at this hotel on the weekend, but it thinned out during the week. Thick towels, excellent TV (supports video on USB), elevator worked great, and breakfast had lots of options. Kids seemed to like the indoor pool and workout room. Cracker Barrel next door which was one of the better ones. I slept great and enjoyed my stay. I would stay here again, easy access to interstate. I paid about $80 per night on average, so reasonable by Dayton standards.

Ok well 1st I never write reviews unless really really bad or really really good. The ladies at the front desk were super nice during the phone call to make reservation and upon check in, the trouble started upon entering the room. While the lobby looked nice enough and hallways were nice and wide the room itself was very spacious. We open the door and the room smelled like an old lady spilt her perfume bottle...it was very powerful but thought I could make due by opening a window. After checking the bed ( 1st thing I ALWAYS do..I was happy due to mattress cover and sheets and pillows seemed good. Looking around I noticed red sticky stuff on couch cushions and a dirty sock peeking out from under the couch!! My husband had already used sink in bathroom but am pretty sure he didn't splatter it up with one use as bad as it was. Floor in bath room and around sink kitchen area was spoted/dirty. The dust on the headboard of bed was at least 1/4 inch think. My husband went down to change rooms, they said no more king rooms available, and they couldn't offer a discount. After a bit more talking they did discount the room and said cleaning lady walked out today!! I would have thought they may would have wanted to ck rooms prior to renting...Im hopeful since bed was made nicely that it had not been used!! It was late we had been traveling for 10 days so decided to stay. There are so many options out there DO NOT CHOSE THIS ONE!

GGuest UserThe property is old and decrepit. A poor remodeling attempt was made at some point to update rooms, but old nasty bathtubs with black mold embedded in the grout doesn’t qualify as a remodel in my opinion. Hotel management tries to mask an overpowering “musty mold” smell with perfumes throughout. Perfumes are overbearing and after a one-night stay, the smell will not clear your nostrils. Ohio Edison had a scheduled power outage to fix the power source, but the hotel failed to notify their guests. Stuck on the 6th floor for 3 hours during power outage. Venturing to an exit stair, resulted in walking down rickety steel plates to an outside door. I can’t image a property that fails to notify their guests of planed power outages. A note left in your room the day before would have been well received, but the property didn’t take the initiative. Front desk staff informed me that they posted a note at the front desk the day before. However, I did not check into the property on Saturday and had no idea a scheduled power outage was going to occur. There was no phone service during the power outage, so I was unable to contact the front desk to inquire about the power outage. I did make my way to the outside via dimly lit exit stairs. I suggest better emergency lights as multiple floors had to emergency lighting. Bistro has decent food but the restaurant staff has a tendency to talk about and judge their patrons. I am a loyal Marriott “Ambassador Status” customer, but I must warn any consumer, especially Marriott Bonyoy members, about this property. In fact, this stay will most likely result in more Hilton stays. I understand all hotel chains have their share of bad properties, but this by far the worst Marriott property I have encountered in five years. Expecting a clean, odor free and updated room is too much to ask at this property. Again, consumer beware as this property fails to uphold the “Marriott standard”.

GGuest UserWe chose your hotel because of its price and location. We did not spend a whole lot of time there but were satisfied with our stay. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were quite comfortable. The breakfast was mostly grab-and-go but the microwave sandwiches were tasty. I did not have time to make myself waffles.
