Staff excellent especially Abby on Reception, so welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Perfect welcome. Spacious room, excellent bathroom spotlessly clean. Excellent location. Electric heater made room perfectly warm. Bar and entrance area excellent. Loved the style and quirkiness - reminded us of Canadian hotels ( quality of some much worse ) and Disney Wilderness Lodge. Perfect. Breakfast excellent. Dinner not so much. This is not a Boutique Hotel so perhaps the name Bespoke Hotels sets it up to fail, sadly. Yes it needs new mattresses and mattress covers are a MUST. Agree that dining room chairs need cleaning and much dusting required. It could be so much better - just TLC - But no where near as bad as the horrible reviews which nearly out us off. We Loved It !! Can't wait to come back....Thank You :) :) :)
My husband and I enjoy our visits to this lovely, characterful pub. The only comment I wanted to make was about the desserts, that although presented beautifully, I don’t find as satisfying as last year. I think the new ‘buffalo?’ Ice-cream is too light and lacking in substance. It feels more like a diet option, I understand it would appeal to some. The chocolate torte-like dessert tasted nice but was too hard to get the spoon through the lower section without it shooting off the plate. Sticky toffee pudding with sautéed banana was delicious but again, a different option to the ice-cream that feels like sorbet would be great. The puddings are expensive but of high quality, but one expects to feel satisfied and full after one. The peaches were delicious but again the ice-cream too light and ultimately unfulfilling.
The location is perfect and walking distance to main sites. The Japanese restaurant is also wonderful. The room is clean and spacious. However, data access and wifi is limited. Overall it was a very wonderful experience staying at Kyoto room

I had a lovely overnight stay at the Old Vine hotel. I was visiting Winchester to visit the cathedral and I couldn't have picked a more central location with easy access to the cathedral. I was put in the Zoffany Room at the front of the hotel and despite being over the pub and dining rooms I didn't experience any distracting noise from the patrons downstairs and being at the front of the hotel gave a nice view onto the cathedral grounds. The room was spacious and well proportioned, fully of character and charm and had all the amenities you'd expect. The bed was large and comfortable as were the arm chairs. The bathroom was also of a very generous size, very clean with a good sized combined bath and shower. My only suggestion to the hotel may be to move away from small individual single-use plastic bath products to improve environmental sustainability. The breakfast was served downstairs in the main pub dining area, which was welcoming but not overly busy. The breakfast itself was very good. Great local ingredients in my vegetarian full English breakfast. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, friendly and professional. I'd be very happy to stay here again if I were to visit Winchester in the future.

Pretty basic no frills hotel but quiet and clean with a good comfortable bed and well equipped shower room. Rooms are a good size. Easy to find. Good parking. Polite and helpful staff.
The hotel is well located in the centre of town however parking and access by car was a big problem; we had to park a mile away. Our room (and those of other travellers) wasn't ready on arrival. The room was in the main building; the bed was comfortable and the room had usual amenities. The shower was a little dated. We used the bar which was comfortable although overly busy due to two large parties booked in for events that evening. The bartender, Micky, coped really well with the large number of customers from the events. Breakfast included a good choice of hot and cold options and service was good. We felt the hotel tariff was over-priced even allowing that we visited for the Christmas market in December.
Shout out to Harvey, he is an angel, fantastic and looked very well after me. The hotel is around the corner from high street, it's very well decorated and has everything you need (including delicious biscuits 😋😆). If you want a good experience definitely stay here. Tips: The wall are very thin, but don't let you stop from staying, bring some good earplugs (especially if you are a light sleeper like me). For the laundry, make sure you give your things in the morning, so the external company they use can bring it back the day after (check first with them if it will be possible). As I said, it's worth staying😌
We had a delightful stay at this hotel! The room was very comfortable and cosy, providing the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. Situated conveniently close to the bustling high street and within walking distance of numerous attractions, the hotel's location couldn't have been better. The friendly staff and charming atmosphere added to the overall wonderful experience. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the area

Excellent
This charming country pub offers accommodation at less than £100 a night so you get what you pay for especially in this part of the world where two local Premier Inns often charge £150 +. All credit to the management who have tried their best. A comfy bed, nice towels, fresh milk and water in a mini fridge., plus a Dyson fan. They are also very accommodating. The bed head is rough wood painted grey and the electric sockets are industrial. Outside the whole area has an unloved look about it apart from the spiders many of whom have made their home. Why people think wooden sheds are a good idea for accommodation in this country I don’t know. It’s not bad but for me not that good. It’s good value though if the prices remain under £100. Would be pretty bleak in winter I fear.
GGuest UserThe hotel is nice, the breakfast is delicious, the hot springs and swimming are very comfortable! A very recommended place.
The hot springs are free and included in the hotel price, so there is no need to pay extra.
GGuest UserThe hotel looks bright and modern, with a decent car park. The many many signs all over the place about fines if you don’t register your vehicle make the parking and hotel entry somewhat intimidating. If they are concerned about parking. Why not just have a barrier with a token from reception to exit? Reception was friendly and we had a room on the ground floor with a lovely view of a ****y bank of earth through a rather small window. The room was clean, well appointed but the ceiling lighting was awfully dim. The bathroom was clean but we didn’t feel that entry/exit from the bath was very safe if you had limited mobility. Dinner in the restaurant was extremely disappointing. The space is modern and the kitchen is open, but the service, though very friendly was extremely and embarrassingly slow. This needs to attended to. The place was not at all busy. In the end we went to the bar to get a drink to fill in the waiting time. Someone on a neighbouring table waited ages for a beer which was served flat and had to wait a long long time for a replacement. Our tear and share bread was so over cooked, we struggled to cut it with a pizza wheel. The fish and chips were very tasty and well presented. The tagliatelle was over cooked and the sauce completely tasteless. The only flavour in the dish came from the nice garlic prawns added as an extra. We decided against deserts as we anticipated another very long wait. While we were there a neighbouring table was re-occupied but was not sanitised between guests. This could have been so much better! Breakfast was easier because it’s self serve, but it was busy and the few staff were unable to keep pace so tables took a long time to be cleared and longer to be cleaned. We had to get our own cutlery as this job was also slow. Breakfast selection and quality was quite acceptable. We were happy with the hotel but it was badly let down by the extremely slow dinner service.
Paid early check in, phone to confirm told room ready and arrive as soon as we wanted, got there to find room not ready. Afternoon tea dry and tasteless. Booked superior room with robes for spa, no robes, staff couldn’t locate any, ended up wearing my dressing gown down to spa late, so then my treatment was cut short because I was late which was the hotels Fault. We had booked a 2 night stayed with meals as staff had said there would be a roast on the Sunday, In the Saturday we ordered dinner from a poor inadequate menu of which we struggled to find something, my steak came supposedly medium to well done but in fact it was rare and dripping, the roasted vegetable where cold, and my daughter butterfly chicken was also cold. When we asked about the Sunday dining roast, staff looked puzzled and said same menu tomorrow as today, so no roast that we had booked. Hotel room ok apart from extractor nit Working which mad bathroom into a slippery swimming pool with the condensation. After Night so great sleep woke up To a power cut, no information or warned given by any member of staff, had to use touch in phone to get to the main hotel, of which had power, went to have breakfast as could make a coffee in room due to no Electric to be met by a queue of people waiting to be seated in restaurant which clearly could cope the amount of people, staff didn’t seem to care about the customers or there needs. Checked out a day early due to how terrible it was, from The queue of people checking out, many being overcharged, over charged for Services/items they never had I would rate this a 1* and that’s purely for The Beautiful surroundings. Customer service is a joke, try to get a refund is near in impossible!
GGuest UserNot used Days Inn before and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice warm welcome and the room perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Yes, it does need refurbishment but for the money it’s good value.
In fact we will definitely use again en route to Southampton.
