I wasn't really sure what to expect when I booked a family room at the Lucarelli Inn. Turns out, I had found a winner. The Lucarelli is a huge, popular Italian restaurant with rooms upstairs. It's very well located near the New Square shopping development with a multitude of shops and restaurants. There is a lot of parking available at the hotel. We were checked in efficiently by a friendly young lady, I was impressed with the early check in time. We turned up soon after 12 and the room was ready. It was advertised as a double and a single but the double was huge - basically 2 single beds together. The wifi worked well, toiletries and coffee / tea was plentiful, the tv was good and everything was clean. If I was looking with a critical eye I would think the room was a little dated, but it was comfortable, well located, quiet - what's not to love?! I would stay here again without hesitation.

Let me start by saying I usually stay at The Village hotel but decided to give this one a try. This hotel as air con, the Village hotel does not. The location is great just off the M5, everything is easily accessible I booked a twin room, the beds were so comfortable as you would expect with a Mercure hotel. The room was decorated to a high standard and had everything you need to be comfortable. The only negative which might affect some people's stay is the bathroom, it has a mixer shower so the pressure of the water was very weak. I did speak to reception who informed me that in the near future this will be changed. The breakfast was delicious, if you want poached eggs just ask, they are happy to please. This is my now place to stay when visiting family in the midlands. Shout out to Gerry on reception who goes out of her way to make sure you have the best stay, she is a superstar! FYI in the Privilege room- you get a mini fridge and bottled water/juices and a modern shower rather than a mixer tap shower

We had a good welcome on arrival. My room was on the first floor overlooking the car park and main road. It was surprisingly not too noisy. The room was spacious, with a large comfy double bed and a sofa bed. . There was a good well stocked hospitality tray & a comfy seat. The shower room was small but adequate, there was basic toiletries in there. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices of fruits, cereals and juices. The hot selection was excellant. I couldn't see any milk alternatives but I'm sure there was some. I enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back.

Great cheap hotel in good local for what I required. The hotel is clean and tidy.The room we staying in was dated and worn but it was just for me and my lad. Bathroom was compact but worked plenty of hot water. We stayed in July and room was nice and cool at night. We asked for a quite room which the hotel sorted we had room 100 which was furthest from reception which suited us as quite. Slept well nice little shop just outside hotel and a pub with served a carvery all within 500m. The hotel also has free parking and if you have a van you can lock it in a gated compound for added safety. Check in was a t 3pm we got there at 2pm but had to wait until 3pm on the dot even when room was empty and clean!! Staff all very nice and friendly and helpfull. Only downfall hotel restaurant was closed on both Friday and Saturday night which was a little disappointing but there is a pub within 500m. Also missed breakfast both days due to not starting until 8am. Good cheap friendly hotel.

The room itself has a microwave, cutlery/plates, fridge which is perfect! I sometimes prefer a takeaway in a hotel and keep some milk/fruit in the fridge for the morning. So it's nice that you can actually eat the takeaway with the right utensils and not risk leaving milk at room temperature all night.Loved the decor and idea of a communal kitchen to.Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.
