Wow, this place is a slice of paradise. Your own private island, only 12 other bure’s on it, so you feel secluded. We have a 5 star mega resort booked for the last few days, but the family doesn’t want to leave. They have a huge water park, non motorized sports, breakfast, a pool, bouncy castle, pool table, foosball, air hockey and more all for free. Free transfers to the mainland for free that runs 24hrs. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way. They brought us wifi in our room, fixed my wife’s shoes, and took us on a free sunset cruise. Owner is a gem and really cares for his guests. Staff work hard to clean the beach from garbage from mainland and it’s clean and ready by about 9am every morning. Late night swimming allowed. Amazing food and drinks, especially the pizza. Do yourself a favour and stay here. Saves you $600-800 from visiting a private island for a day tour, might as well stay on a private island for the same price.
I stayed at the hotel for 18 days, last month and some staff are very nice and friendly specially the catering, and cleaners, the overall we pay for our stay is far expensive as it is but the condition is not matching enough with what we pay for as the room has cockroaches going around near the basin area, and in the bedroom, specially night time goes in your bed, I complained so many times with nothing being done, the whole room needs upgrading, they need more washing machines as it was heavy rains throughout the week with only 1/2 machines being used all the time and i ended up going to families place with my loads of washing, even though it’s convenient to Lautoka town, the food is the same every morning but it caters for everyone is trully a blessing as staff there are very supportive, friendly, otherwise the whole Hotel needs a new Face with new maintenance to match with class, and worth for our moneys worth🙏🏽
This is an absolute gem of a place, super close to the airport, they pick you up and drop you off so you don’t even have to think about any of it, but it feels a million miles away. Private and secluded and feels like you’re staying at the private home of a glamorous movie star friend. It’s not a resort so much, more of a secluded luxury spot to relax, and it’s absolutely divine. If you’re looking for a layover before you go out to a far flung island, or you just want to get off the plane and be drinking a wine by the pool in half an hour, it’s perfect. The best part of the experience is both the incredible burres that are so unique and make you feel like you’re in a movie - and also the owner and boss lady extraordinaire Mrs B - we met her at dinner in the restaurant one night and felt like we’d been friends for life. Her magic and hospitality is infectious and makes you want to drink life down like a frozen margarita. She really went out of her way to make our stay special - the little things like rearranging the menu to make sure we could try Fijian food, to showing us an absolutely incredible Fijian circus show, she made our trip phenomenal. You’ll love it, just go. The only thing I’d say is that it’s not a resort like Sheraton, so there isn’t always someone there to attend to your every need, but if you want something just ask. They’ll do everything to help. (And if you’re someone who at 2am is like, hm, I want juice I’ll just go to the on site seven eleven…it doesn’t work like that. But There’s a bar and they’ll work super hard to get you whatever you want snacks wise - they found me some amazing local style chips and nuts just because I said I was hungry - so if you want something just ask. Don’t waste your money on a cookie cutter Nadi resort, go here and hang out in a pocket of paradise.

The hotel is a 20-minute drive from the city center and the airport, and the fare is about 20 Fijian dollars. The hotel has a total of about 20 guest rooms. The rooms are large and the facilities are relatively complete. Each room has a whirlpool bathtub. The buffet breakfast is basically a fixed meal, with little change, and the basic elements are all there. The people of Fiji are simple and honest, and the attitude of the service staff is very enthusiastic. The entire hotel area is not very large, there are beaches, swimming pools, and hammocks in the forest. If you want to go rafting, diving, or helicopter, you can make an appointment at the front desk.
Staff super genuinely kind, friendly and interested in our stay being the best. Delicious food at the restaurant at reasonable prices, fantastic service. Main pool big and well appointed with seating and shade. Kayaks available. Superb sunsets each night on the landing. Very historic location. Check out at 10 am was too early.
Transportation: Starting from vuda Marina, the hotel will pick you up for free. To go to other places, you need to communicate with the boss of the island. The boss is very enthusiastic. He also found his own friends to send us to cloud9. Although the boat to cloud9 is not very good, it is very exciting ( 500fjd a boat)
Hygiene: Hygiene is still very clean, but after snorkeling around the island, you will bring a lot of sand to the bed
Environment: The environment is great, the beach in front of the hotel is rubbish, but the other beach on the island is very good. The point! The point! The point! Snorkeling around this island can see turtles and, if you are lucky, ”friendly” sharks!
Service: Top service! Finished blasting Shangri-La's brand hotel (there are many people in the brand hotel, the service staff are not very enthusiastic, even ordering food is not active, and water is not provided). The service staff on the island will even remember your name to greet you. When there are many people, there will be a kava welcome party and a bonfire party, which makes people feel that they are very thoughtful in all aspects. After returning to the main island, the hotel will help you. When arranging rentals, we emphasized the need to use the meter (the driver who did not use the meter was ripped off), the taxi from vuda Marina to Shangri-La Hotel was less than 80 dollars, but from Shangri-La to the airport, the brand hotel was slaughtered for 120 dollars.
Advantages: enthusiastic service, super enthusiastic, there are few people on the island, you can play on the beach exclusively, the island is very quiet, the water around the island is also very good, there are many fish and turtles
Disadvantages: There are many free activities (boating, paddleboarding) that need to be consulted by yourself, no bright corals nearby, brunch is relatively simple, Wi-Fi is not good
ETA for our flight was 6:30am. We arrived with 3 other flights and to make it worse, there was no electricity at the airport. We didn’t think anyone was still going to wait for us but our beautiful host Holeva was still waiting 3 hours later. She greeted us with the most beautiful and warm smile together with Koli. Even though she was up early 5:00 to 5:30 at the office preparing to host another family, she would always make time to see if we were okay or if we needed anything. Our villa was beautiful and we had the most gorgeous views of the mangroves and the Sleeping giants in the distance. It was peaceful and relaxing. The villa provided the essentials and it was comfortable and spacious. We had no neighbours so we had total privacy. Tv didn’t have any reception but that’s okay because we spent our days basking in the sun and enjoying the view. Holeva, you went above and beyond to make our holiday a memorable one and it was. Vinaka vaka levu….nisa moce!!!
I came to Fiji for the APEC championship in Sparta. It was my first time in Oceania, and it was an island, so I was more cautious when choosing a hotel. I read the reviews saying that the Chinese sister was very nice, and it was a villa-style B&B hotel, so I decisively placed an order!
The accommodation is in a high-end villa area with a great view. There is the sea in front of the door and the bay in the backyard. It is a place with very good natural scenery on the main island!
Because it was off-season, I was the only one staying that day. The sister was very kind and changed me to a big bed room with a swimming pool as soon as the door opened. Thumbs up to the sister!
In addition, the sister is really a superb cook!
After competing for two consecutive days, I was tired, so the sister directly arranged a big meal for me, grouper, sea cucumber soup, lamb chops, chicken, various high-quality proteins and carbon water, and every meal was very full! The good results of this competition are inseparable from the sister's logistical support! Five stars!
I originally wanted to take half a day off to play alone, but I didn't expect that my sister could also arrange this. In the end, I couldn't arrange it due to time issues, which left me with some small regrets. However, regrets will lead to the next meeting!
Next time I come to Fiji, I will come to see my sister again! The arrangements are clear! Absolutely awesome!
The staff was friendly. We booked a Family Villa through Tripadvisor Plus for 2 nights. Our flight on Fiji air was scheduled to arrive at 6AM in the morning. They held the room for us and it was ready when we arrived at 7AM. Room was ground level. The staff moved us to a Villa closer to the dining and pool because my wife walks with a cane and a shorter walking distance is better for her. Room was clean and spacious. I would stay again.
We had a great stay at the Fiji Gateway hotel! The rooms were clean and in great condition and the showers had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water - perfect for helping us relax as we continued our trip. As opposed to other hotel rooms in Fiji, the air conditioning worked great and the safe in the room was in good working condition - something that is always important for protecting your valuables and travel documents. This was a perfect place for us to stay when we had to fly out of Nadi airport for our flight to the island of Taveuni. On this night, we ate at the restaurant which had excellent, friendly staff and good food. But the thing we remember the most about this hotel were the 2 live musicians Igenasio and Joape who play in the bar and restaurant. During our meal, I kept pausing and saying to my wife, ”listen to this awesome music”! Just about every day for the rest of our trip I kept saying to my wife, ”did I say how awesome those musicians at the Fiji Gateway hotel were?” On our final night in Fiji, just before we went to Nadi airport, we went back to the Fiji Gateway hotel to see if Igenasio and Joape were playing in the restaurant and bar area. Guess what? They were! I was beyond excited to see them and told them that we came back to the hotel just to find them. They did not disappoint and played 2 songs that we requested as well as songs requested by others. They are a great duo and they complement each other with their lead singing and harmony. We'll always remember this final night in Fiji at the Gateway Hotel!
