Excellent
We were in a king room which was one of the most spacious I have ever been in. Very comfortable and well appointed. Clean without heavy perfumes. One street back from the beach. Would highly recommend. However, the king rooms were at the top of a steep staircase and I couldn't remember being told that in advance. Could have been a problem if we couldn't do the stairs.
We drove out to Phillip Island for see the penguins and chose the Ramada to overnight instead of driving back to Melbourne. When we drove through the entrance and down the road to the office we were surprised how large the resort was. The staff at checkin were very friendly and helpful. The same applied at checkout. We had a three bedroom unit and it reminded us of a mobile home in the US. Inside was a full size kitchen, living room and two bathrooms. Overall the condition was average but served its purpose for our one night. If we had more time then the resort offered a lot of activities such as walking trails, hot spring pool, tennis courts, gyms, BBQ area and more. A restaurant was also onsite and located next to the office.
GGuest UserWe booked a 4-person room with three beds, two of which were small beds in a suite. The room was relatively clean and quiet, and the front desk staff was also quite enthusiastic. We went to see the penguins, and he introduced us to the route and other basic information. It took 15 minutes to drive Minutes to see penguins! Quite satisfied!
GGuest UserOur first time to do self check in, the instructions given were clear and easy to follow.
We arrived late and didn't see a single staff during our stay. Yet, the staff replying our queries through emails were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The room is spacious and clean, not fancy but comfortable. Hot water was running a bit slow for the last person to take a shower. Otherwise, it was perfect.
The location is great, within walking distance to the restaurants and shops, or a 2 min. drive. There is a children's park outside the hotel and the kids enjoyed it very much. The beach view is also spectacular.
AAmander BThis was perfect, cheap accommodation for our family of 6 for a long weekend on Philip Island. The cabin was clean and had most basic equipment needed for our stay. We were right next to the jumping pillow which wlthe kids were initially very excited about but unfortunately was not in operation for the entirety of our stay. We also found it quite a distance from most of the things we wanted to do on the island. (About 15/20 mins drive from most attractions) For the price we paid it was quite satisfactory though.
GGuest UserWe decided to visit the San Remo Hotel for dinner, The menu was diverse. I had braised ox cheek, with mashed potato and broccoli. The ox cheek was very tasty and very large. It has an Asian flavoring, in particular star anise. It was, to my mind, a little sweet but that was more than offset by my pint of lager, which was pleasantly bitter. My dining partner had a seniors meal. fish and chips, which was so large that I helped her finish her serve. It was a very substantial meal, and very enjoyable. The dining room was busy and the San Remo Hotel was one of the few eateries open on Monday evening.
GGuest UserWe went with another family and combined we had three 6 year old girls. We loved the ability to simply walk a few metres to the beach and also walk a few metres to the pool and outside spa. The pool/spa is setup prefect for adults and children to enjoy together. I have stayed there over nearly twenty years and some years back I did stay on a soft mattress but I am pleased to say that this time everything was perfect. The rooms are bog enough, clean and have all we need. The best part I enjoy about about staying at Kaloha is cooking breakfast on the bbqs in the late morning while the kids can run around and enjoy the playground or jumping castle.
PPortillaClean and spacious room right in the heart of food and shopping area. I like it that the room is equipped with a microwave oven, fridge, kettle and stove with pots, pans, crockery and utensils for cooking. Parking lot is just outside the unit that allows for ease of loading and unloading luggage. We had a comfortable stay. If checking in late (6pm and after) do call them so that they can leave the keys behind for you. There is heater in case it gets too cold.
GGuest UserJust wanted to leave a review to assist others. The price considering it is semi shared accomodation with the kitchenette being in a common area and the walls being really thin (could hear everything from people in next suite on our level) was probably the only negative we had. Overall though, I found the place to be quite beautiful. Trees surround the property, the owner Harley was incredibly welcoming and friendly when we met. It was a cosy place to spend a few nights (we were attending a wedding up there). We even requested an iron and an ironing board with an iron was delivered right to our room in no time at all! They even offered to take our luggage up to the room. Balcony was so beautiful. I did enjoy our stay here, and it is so close to restaurants and bars. Perfect location. Thank you Harley and team for providing a wonderful stay for us both. Matt & Holz
GGuest UserVery basic motel- not good enough even for that. I usually don't mind a basic motel, that is if everything works and it is comfortable. The heating didn't work properly and we struggled to keep the chill off the air in the room. The two beds in the room had one blanket each -winter you would think there would be more. In the cupboard there was only one spare blanket for one bed. The outside lights were on all night and the window coverings were unable to keep out the light, especially the window above the door. There was nothing to wash the dishes with even though the sign in the room advised you'd have to wash your dishes (BTW I don't have an issue with washing my dishes). I only booked this motel because there was nothing else available. Definitely would not stay here again.
