We wanted somewhere central and comfortable to stay for a couple of nights, but not a motel or a house. This was the most appealing, looking at the web site. We found it to be very comfortable and cosy. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was nice and modern and stocked with some nice teas. King bed was really comfortable, with interesting marine artefacts above and the heating was great. However, the shower was just warm enough and the water from the bathroom tap took ages to heat up. The bathroom was nice and large which was good as usually we find them rather small. An extra ledge to put things in there would be useful. There was some noise from trucks overnight, but it is opposite a hospital. The bathroom door is rather unusual - large, heavy and we were curious as to why as we'd never seen one like this before. We were able to walk to dinner at a nearby hotel bistro. We enjoyed our breakfast out on the porch in the lovely courtyard. We really enjoyed our stay.
We unexpectedly required a weeklong accommodation in Geelong. It was essential that we were accommodated within walking distance of the sites we planned to visit. We selected Eastern Sands despite some poor survey readings. The motel was located about 300 metres from the main street being very close to Market Square and the Westfield shopping centre. The bay was a similar distance away. The allocated room, Suite 8, was about average size but was well fitted out for the storage of clothing and other items. A large double bed and a single bed were both comfortable. Unit was clean throughout with a large number of GPOs which helped with the charging of cell phones and computers. A reverse cycle air-conditioner kept the room warn during very cold nights with ambient temperatures in the low teens. A reasonably sized refrigerator and microwave oven allowed us to eat some stock foods. Cutlery consisted of a bread-and-butter knife and two teaspoons. Three small dinner plates completed the total list of dining utensils' Bathroom was small but well appointed. Large fluffy bath towels were replaced periodically. The hot water tap in the shower recess rotated through 720 degrees before it allowed any access to hot water. Soap and other bathroom needs were provided. Staff were helpful offering to change our suite to the ground floor when they realised our age made the stairs an issue. I would rank the motel as better than 3 but certainly not as a 4 rating
Great hotel. Our room was upstairs. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Excellent friendly staff. The location is perfect for a stroll down to the bay to walk along or into town to the many restaurants or shopping.

Where to start with this one? I booked a twin room (1x queen and 1x single) here through Wotif.com. $181. I was flat out making the 9pm cut off for check in. The women on the reception gave me a check in form and on that I stated 3 people would be staying in the room. She said id only booked for 2 people and would have to get ”the girls” to sort that out tomorrow. We left and went on the rest of our trip and stupidly I booked it again for the way home. It was after this I noticed I had been charged $55 extra for the previous night for the extra person. On check in the 2nd time I marked 2 people staying (myself and my 6yo) as my partner had intended heading off that evening but wasn't sure as it was getting late. Thats where things went south pretty quick, the manager, probably the most abhorrent human I have ever encountered, started yelling at me from the ground whilst I was entering the 1st floor room asking how many was staying. I chose to go and have a conversation in the office instead of yelling. She said she saw on the cameras there were 3 people in the car when we got out and we had enough luggage for 3 people. Well yes, we had been on a 4 day trip. 3 of us. I informed her the 2 person thing was a Wotif default search. I simply put the dates and the town in and then choose an appropriate room for my needs. In this case it was the twin room that sleeps 3, as per the advertisement. She charged me another $55 dollars, refused a refund as per the very convenient ”no refund”. She informed me that this always happens (im not surprised). She accused me of stealing by not indicating how many people were staying there. She was abusive and basically just downright obnoxious. You cannot speak to this person, seriously, she just speaks over you at every chance. I honestly booked a room to accommodate our needs. in all my time booking hundreds of Hotels I have never encountered anything like it. Seriously guys, stay away from this place. I feel stupid falling into the same trap twice but i'd already booked it prior to looking at my credit card transaction. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE, THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS!!! I feel sillier after getting home and reading the reviews, seems to be a common theme at this place. I though given the twin share room that sleeps 3 was more expensive than a queen room that i was already paying for a 3rd person. For heaven's sake just go somewhere else, this place is just disgraceful!

Very nice place to stay and easy access to the beautiful water front. Everything of this place is clean and tidy. Parking spaces are a bit narrow but okay. Will book this place again if we are coming back to Geelong or Great Ocean Road.
Room was very well designed, however in the bedroom part when the doors are closed no air conditioning could access making nights uncomfortable. But the most uncomfortable thing of all was the bed. A marshmallow bed gave me no support and therefore a sore back. Tried the couch one night was much more comfortable but then I started thinking about hygiene and thought I could get pink eye or something so begrudgingly went back to soft-as bed for more achy sleep.
The location was convenient for our Geelong visit and the room was nice clean and simple. Nothing fancy, nothing extra. Staff were kind and helpful. The restaurant was easy to access but the food was a little expensive and there was only limited options but the meals we had were very nice.

GGuest UserHard to do this review as there was nothing really wrong but there were a few misses. I got the feeling it is mostly a conference hotel - and one that has been retrofitted to update it! Staff were all really young and a bit too casual for a hotel. As it was Easter I had to book two nights and it was quite expensive given it is quite basic. Breakfast is included which is quite lovely. No lunch at Easter and a very small bar menu - Mainly pizza this weekend. Good wine list. Setting is not as nice as I hoped / I got a view of the car park and a bit of food course. It is in the botanic gardens but the gardens are very basic and mostly grass and trees! Nice pool area but mostly a bit overpriced for me.
GGuest UserMy wife and I stayed overnight at Holiday Inn & Suites for one night. We had a top floor suite with amazing views out to Port Philip Bay. The room was well appointed with lots of space and a very comfortable bed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had prearrange car parking and we drove straight in as there was number plate recognition. We were able to park opposite the lift, which allowed us to get our extensive amount of luggage up to our room. We had a Continental breakfast in the morning which had all you need for a good breakfast. The Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong is a truly good accommodation, however we chose it as we were travelling on the Trans Tasman Ferry with a night sailing. We arrived early so we could do lots of sightseeing in Geelong. We were extremely disappointed as the area was totally empty of anything to do. While it was a Sunday, it was obvious many places were closed permanently. Geelong is a sad, rundown city. This is a double disappointment for me as I did my Uni Degree through Deakin University which is just a block or so from Holiday Inn! We ended up driving to Barwon Heads on the Bellarine Peninsular to fill in our day before we boarded the Ferry at 7-pm.
MMarilyn cThis caravan park is spotless and well laid out. The lady in reception was friendly, the amenities block is clean, and there are plenty of bins scattered around the park. It is very well maintained. This is the second time we've been here and we were not disappointed.
SSIHONGSuitable for self-driving hotels, each room has a corresponding parking space, we arrived at the store at 6 o'clock, the hotel front desk has been off work, call the past and guide us to take the room card. Room facilities, health are very good, very close to the beach, there are restaurants nearby, there are supermarkets to cook their own meals, it is recommended
GGuest UserThis hotel is under the Accor Group. It is clean and comfortable. The room has a sea view and is very close to the beach. The breakfast is very good. I only stayed for one night, but I liked it very much and would come again.
YYvonne//Checked-in was done smoothly. There’s onsite parking available. Only concern is we need to lug our heavy luggages up the staircase. Thank God, it was only one floor up. A bit of noise from the traffic, as our room was facing the main road.
However, we loved the room; nice, spacious, sofa, comfy bed, well equipped with microwave oven, toaster, jug kettle and varieties of option for tea and coffee. Housekeeping was done daily!
Location wise: Easy access to nearby Gardens and Art Gallery. Can easily walk around if you do not want to drive.
Will definitely recommend friends to stay here if they’re in Geelong!
Very nice place to stay with family or friends .Not far from city centre . Very friendly staff , they organised the late check in .Good size room and very neat and clean . Worth for paying .Definitely will stay next time .Recommend everyone who is going to stay in Geelong .
DDee BWhat a refreshing family run motel. Lots of attention to detail. Everything provided in the room, ironing board, iron etc. Generous coffee and tea satchels etc and a decent size fridge! Air con works well and also the Wifi which is often so patchy, but no, my device stayed connected the whole time I was in the room! Comfortable bed, hot water in the shower- very clean, and welcoming - what more can you ask for! There is a pool but I didn’t have time to enjoy this. I will happily stay there again and can thoroughly recommend his property.
CCamper00934103749Rooms comfortable. Signs everywhere, including the greeting at reception, notifying the risk of setting off the smoke alarm. The risk of fines and the inconvenience was strongly communicated. From close to midnight and for the next hour of our stay the fire alarm went off. First response was the owner telling us it was a false alarm. The next three alarms were 15 minutes apart and no response was provided from the owner. Not only was this totally disturbing throughout the night, the false alarms left us questioning if the alarm was faulty. No emergency services attended any of the alarms and truly, the question is, is the alarm linked to a base system. Due to the overkill of communication about setting off the smoke alarm, one would wonder if the gentleman/owner is fully aware the smoke alarm is faulty and possibly illegal. The accommodation charges you extra by the hour if you attempt to check in early and then fire alarms disrupt your overnight stay. The rooms were comfortable enough, the continuous setting off of fire alarms produced a nervous nights stay.
GGuest UserI made a small phone call for the Chinese boss. At 11 o'clock in the evening, the plane landed. After picking up the car, I arrived at the store for nearly 12 o'clock. The whole block was covered with wood. At the cheek in the door, I pressed the bell and the boss immediately came out. So warm, don't worry about going to the streets. The late night boss introduces us to the surrounding area of Geelong, helping us to eat the place where we eat, the first stop is really warm, the hotel environment is very good, recommend everyone to go oh~ The price is very close to the family! Unfortunately, leaving the next day is too hasty to take pictures!
