The Pilgrm

Stayed for a night. With many luggages on hand, location played a huge deciding factor to chose Pilgrm. Paddington station was literally right across one traffic light. It was a no brainer and although rooms was not the largest, the service staffs gave us their best service. It is therefore, highly recommended for people transiting for a night or two at max.

Great little hotel very close to Paddington station. Decor is very stylish. Cosy lounge. Great breakfast. Only negative was that the bathroom door could be a little more opaque.

All places around Paddington are ridiculously small and expensive this is too. But I liked the staff and the room was clean, and it is not the worst I have stayed in.

This hotel was right across from the train station, which is just what we needed for an early departure for the airport. However, I wouldn't recommend it for any more than 1 night. It was very tight to have 2 people in there. There was zero airflow so it got very stuffy at night, and they're having some sort of problems with wet carpets bc everything smelled very musty everywhere. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues - stairs to get up to the hotel, and even with taking the lift we had to navigate extra stairs to get to our rooms, tough with heavy suitcases. It was well designed and affordable though!

First of all, the staff are fantastic. They found my left-behind phone and saved my life! The room was clean and fairly quiet, although the street noise could be heard, but you HAVE to be prepared for a room the size of a closet, or at least mine was. There was nowhere to put anything and it made my stay really challenging. I had to put my skincare/makeup bags on the floor and the suitcase on the bed. I would say to make it worth the amount of money I paid, they should offer at the very least a few basic amenities (such as a face cloth - how do they not have face cloths????) because for me the lack of them means I probably wouldn’t return. Great breakfast, though.

Booked one night stay and location is great. Friendly staff but confusing layout of building. One one electronic key card is allowed per room and second guest must use a PIN code to use on doors. Door Pin code is hard to read and not lit so you cannot see what you are doing. I had to ask for assistance. They cut a new card for me but cancelled my partners card. Room booked is medium, no space in room and won't return

Simple room but just as we had expected. We were there for only one night so the fact the room was small was not an issue. Very clean. Location was great and staff friendly

The Pilgrm was an okay stay for us! Conveniently located across the street from Paddington Station, so travel to great sites and bites was easy. It was a trendy hotel but each room was heavily perfumed with a strong, Axe scent that made our heads hurt. It was also quite loud being on such a busy street as well as traffic in the hallways. The staff was a bit cold toward us and awkwardly placed in the downstairs cafe but were helpful when we needed extra attention in our room. Probably would not stay here again but it worked for what we needed at the time.

The small rooms are fine, the small bathroom is fine, the basic amenities are fine. I don't need a lot to be content in a hotel room - I love hotels. The Pilgrm Hotel managed to be the only place I've not wanted to stay longer at. The service my wife and I received by the reception was uninviting, unhelpful and felt unprofessional. We received no welcome upon check-in and were ignored until we tried to get some assistance. Self check-in is fine, we're a young couple, but you could do better at making it an easy process. Ask CitizenM hotels. Our room was classified as 'medium' meaning the bathroom sink was in the sleeping area - that's ok! But our sink seemed to be defective and drained incredibly slowly to the point where it was filling up with water quicker than it was draining away and I needed to turn the tap off midway through. I would have told the hotel this problem upon check-out but the continued dismissive response to us made me feel awkward and uncomfortable and I just wanted to leave. The shower in the bathroom was delightfully classic, but the lack of grip on the shower floor caused my wife to almost slip over 3 or 4 times. The street noise didn't bother us, but we could hear guests in rooms next to ours and in the corridors very loudly and clearly. I read in other reviews' responses the hotel offers earplugs - nobody told us. I guess if we were not treated as an inconvenience, we might have had this information. It's basic hospitality.
