"There is no car park at the Lodge itself but this was made clear when we booked. However, no mention was made of the fact that there is free roadside parking almost outside for 30 minutes or between 18.00hrs and 10.00hrs On arrival after a 7 hour drive, we parked in the recommended pay car park but there were no signs directing us to the Travel Lodge. We spent 15minutes dragging our luggage to find the entrance.It is tucked away in the corner of a shopping precinct, and is little more than a shop doorway with no signs visible when looking along the row of shops at the bottom of the ramp from the car park. When we complained about this at reception, we were told in a sarcastic manner "We would like to build a car park right outside the door, but we can't" No mention of the 30minutes free roadside parking very nearby or the free roadside overnight parking in the same place. We later found an email sent at 12.00 on our say of arrival, at which time I was driving to the lodge. I do not read my emails when I am driving. This information should have been on the booking confirmation. This all gave us a bad impression although the stay was much as expected from a Travel Lodge. We dont expect the Ritz. Some staff were more friendly than others. A more uniform standard shouldnt5be difficult to achieve."

"Accommodation was nice. Clean but in need of a little maintenance. Brilliant car park, lots of spaces. Arrived on a Sunday and was told that food was only available until 6pm and bar closed at 9pm, not a problem as we were tired and hungry from the journey. Decided to eat out on Monday and Tuesday and have a drink in the bar when we return however the bar closed at 9pm both oevening’s which was very disappointing."

"This has to be the most dingy unloved Premier Inn we have ever stayed in. You expect a certain standard of Premier Inn, clean and comfortable, this was neither. The stairs, corridor and room smelled stale as if people had been smoking there. The hotel desperately needs a refurb, the paint work is dirty and furniture is peeling. It was ridiculously hot in the room even though we had two fans and the window open, this was after the heatwave and the air outside was cool but the room was like and oven, there is no air con. The plus points are that the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. The cleaner was friendly, we asked for our room to be refreshed mid stay and she did a great job. The person working the reception during our stay was sullen and unhelpful. The vending machine for water still isn’t working even though this was stated in a review a few weeks ago, so no bottled water was available. We had to ask the bar staff to fill our water bottle. I would not recommend this place for a pleasant stay."

"Spent 3 nights here on a fishing trip with my cousin. On the second evening we were kept awake by a guest in the room above. They were stomping around and jumping off the bed onto the floor. It was not normal behaviour. This went on from around 3am till 6pm when I reported it to the night staff. It completely ruined the next day as we'd had so little sleep. I complained to Premier Inn customer services on my return home. I received an email within the 8 day period to say I would not be compensated under their 'good night's sleep policy'. Apparently night staff had heard nothing coming from the room above. I showed staff the damage to our ceiling and pictures of a light fitting that had fallen down during the incident. We were also notified very late in the day that the restaurant facilities would not be available due to building work during our stay. If you're looking for a good night's sleep, go elsewhere."
