location is superb, room is big and clean.

Good location and friendly service.

The hotel is very simply decorated. It doesn't look high-end at all in the pictures, and it is not high-end in reality, but it is very comfortable, which is very New Zealand. It is practical but not overly decorated. The breakfast is also good.

This accommodation was more satisfying than expected. The location is reasonable and the staff are quite friendly.

Room was really well appointed, extremely clean and updated. The bed was also excellent. Property was within walking distance of many restaurants and bars and shops, and the steakhouse on property was fantastic.

I always enjoy staying at Rydges in Christchurch as it's generally a great facility with friendly and helpful staff. I was a little shocked this time as I received advice a couple of days before arrival advising that it now costs $20 per night for parking. The gym is a great facility however this time I found that it was not getting cleaned and serviced regularly. On the 5 occasions I used this facility there were no clean towels on any visits and the dirty towel bin was full plus there were no clean water glasses on 3 occasions. I suggest that Management systemise the cleaning of this facility better as it currently seems to be a bit of an after thought. A facility like this should be serviced at least twice daily. I would say it may have been cleaned once or twice on the 5 days I was there.

The hotel is very well located in a peaceful residential neighborhood across a nice park and close to the town center where the activities happen. At check in we made a request to remain in the same room for our 2 night stay ( we booked one night and the tour company had booked the other with a slightly upgrade) and they say sure and assigned us to a room but as we were touring town the next day I got a call to come back to empty our room. Luckily for them we were not yet that far and we came back to comply. For all this inconvenience we got upon request for it, two vouchers for a house beer or wine ($8 each) which were not accepted readily at the restaurant even when we had spend a lot on the meal and not a very pleasant server. Other then that it was an ok stay.

Hotel was clean & the staff friendly & helpful. The only complaint that I have is the availability of entertainment on the TV. Only local stations with no cable or on demand movies

Nothing special hotel, restaurant is ok. Service was ok. Unresponsive to two emails sent prior to arrival. My room faced car park, which was inexplicably noisy at times (possibly tour leaders herding guests into or out of buses?). Breakfast buffet was good, but not exceptional; many options, service on espresso (extra charge) was slow.

Great staff service was a pleasant stay and no troubles to to do small changes. Thank you we will definitely stay again.

Clean, well appointed and well staffed hotel in a convenient location. Nice facility with a decent attached restaurant.
