MaisonLee Hotel Liberation Square Chongqing

It was my first time trying a local China hotel chain, and I must say it was a very pleasant experience overall. Firstly, the room was huge, bright, and airy. The hotel also seemed newly renovated, with modern amenities and a fresh, clean feel throughout. It’s a smart hotel where guests can use WeChat to activate room keys and access various services. Unfortunately, foreign visitors without a local mobile number won’t be able to enjoy these smart features, but the hotel will provide a physical room card instead. Although the hotel’s smart systems are designed around WeChat access, the staff went the extra mile to ensure foreign guests were still well taken care of. Special mention to Mr. Yao (姚先生) at the front desk, who went above and beyond to help me when I realised I had forgotten to bring a travel adapter. The breakfast selection was decent as well. One small downside was that the soundproofing could be better, as noise from guests talking along the corridor could occasionally be heard. Thankfully, it wasn’t too frequent during my stay. Overall, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay, and I would definitely consider staying here again.
