I had read the reviews beforehand, so since I chose to stay in an older room for a cheaper rate, I wasn't really surprised. There was no individual AC unit, but the room had a vent blowing cold air. Even though it was hot outside at 30°C, the room stayed cool and comfortable. You could adjust the airflow by opening or closing the vent.

Overall, the place felt old and worn out, showing its age in a way that made it feel dirty. The stale cigarette smell was headache-inducing. There were only two power outlets, so after plugging in the fan, we had to charge our phones one by one. There was no refrigerator or air conditioning, and a lot of tiny ants. No amenities were provided, and despite booking for two people, we only got one large towel and two small ones.

Travelling alone around Taiwan, I was lucky to stay here. The host is extremely kind and thoughtful. He patiently introduced tourist routes and local delicious food. The room is tidy and quiet. Whenever I had problems outdoors, he offered help sincerely. Travelling alone can be lonely, but his considerate service brought me great warmth. This trip became much more comforting thanks to such a nice local resident.

Great location near the Chiayi train station. Very convenient if you plan a day trip to Alishan. However we found ants and cockroaches in our room. It was manageable on a budget but if insects make you uncomfortable I would not recommend.

The hotel is close to the train station. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the bathroom was rattling all night and the night staff explained that they can only fix it next morning.

My friend and I stayed here one night and it was pretty average. Close to the train station and cheap is the biggest advantage. And early check in and late check out times were a big plus! The bed was too hard, there was no window and no elevator either. Fine for 1 night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying longer.
