"We arrived around 3 PM, but the room wasn’t ready for check-in. Later, during checkout, we discovered that the housekeeping staff was occupying the room. Perhaps if they had focused more on providing excellent service, this situation could have been avoided. No one wants complimentary drinks waiting for them upon arrival at the hotel. The hotel, while slightly outdated, offers ample space. It remains one of the excellent choices in town."

That’s what we felt throughout our stay 😢 As soon as we entered the room A COPY OF PRICES OF ALL THE THINGS KEPT AND PRESENT IN THE ROOM IS MENTIONED GLASS 100 baht THROWAWAY TAG 100 baht Fork 200 baht Etc… etc…. Each and every thing prices mentioned and we were scared to use those things present and kept for our use. Throwaway bottle is 50 to 100 baht 🥶 Thanks for not mentioning price of things kept in washroom otherwise we will be scared to Pee and Poo🫣 Shower space is too narrow 🥵 Guest like us want to spend our quality time in your property (paid) and the alertness and fear of breaking is always in mind. By mistake some times some unpredictable things happen and some damage is done surely guests pay for it and surely you recover it then why to put unnecessarily the prices and spoil the PEACE OF GUESTS. It’s upto you people to choose this properly for stay🥶 We stayed here on 9/4/26"

"We spent five nights at Sooknirund Hotel and had a lovely, relaxing stay. The hotel is beautifully designed with a mix of modern and vintage charm, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully put together. The inclusion of a cafetière in the room was a particularly nice touch. There are some great features throughout the hotel, including a small but well-equipped gym, and a cosy library room with a Nespresso machine, which made for a peaceful spot to unwind. While the stay was very comfortable overall, the breakfast was the one slight letdown. It’s à la carte, and you pre-select your dish at reception the night before. While the menu is varied, the quality and availability were inconsistent. On some mornings, there was juice, toast, and cereal alongside the main dish, while on others, these extras were nowhere to be seen, which was disappointing. Late check-out wasn’t available, which would have been appreciated, but the staff were consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming, and that made a big difference. In short, Sooknirund Hotel is a stylish and comfortable base in Chiang Rai, and we would happily stay again, we just hope breakfast becomes a little more consistent."

Travelling to this remote cottage might be challenging but the host will email direction & instructions so make sure you follow his instructions. If you want a quiet & cosy place, you need to come here. This place near Akha village & no restaurants nearby so eating out might be a problem but the accommodation includes breakfast & dinner. We have tasty yummy Akha meal cooked by Fon mother, truly home cooked. Even though pictures speak a thousand words but you need to come here to experience the beauty of this place. "
