Grand Old Hotel in Chiang Mai – Faded Glory Needs MaintenanceThis hotel must have been incredibly grand in its heyday. Unfortunately, poor maintenance has let it down—many rooms seem closed off, likely due to low occupancy, which explains why it felt so quiet during my stay.The bed was uncomfortable; I could feel the springs poking through. Soundproofing between rooms is lacking too—I could clearly hear the neighbors talking next door. Aircon compressor was very loud. That said, the overall stay was quite good, probably because there weren't many guests around. With proper upkeep, this could be a very comfortable spot. Worth considering if they invest in renovations or a simple upgrade.

Fairly decent location with old city and markets very much in walking distance. Not sure how well gym and pool were maintained but was fine for price point and fact its holiday season. Fairly satisfied.

The room is big and clean. But, the corridor smell is not very good! The location is very good! Many shops and restaurants near by.

Very close to the Night Bazar.. It took us aroud 10 minutes walking to get to the Bazar. Along the way thers is a halal restaurant for this who are looking for halal food.

Sauna was not in operation.

It's a bit of a distance from the night bazaar, but there's a Japanese restaurant very close to the hotel. The in-room internet speed is a bit slow, but it wasn't too bothersome. The room had tiled flooring instead of carpet. It was cool and pleasant at this time of year. Breakfast is available from 6:30. The menu is pretty much the same every day, but that wasn't a problem. There's no bathtub, but the water temperature was good and not lukewarm. If I had to nitpick, it would have been nice if the showerhead was adjustable with a hose instead of being fixed. I'll upload some photos from breakfast.

A newly renovated, standard hotel. The rooms match the pictures, with plenty of functional spaces. The master bedroom has easy-to-use controls for lights and air conditioning; the AC is so cold I had to lower it several times. The bathroom has separate wet and dry zones, and the water pressure is strong. The room is quiet. Breakfast is a standard hotel buffet. There's a long swimming pool, a children's pool, a fitness center, and a kids' play area. There's also a luggage storage room. Overall, I liked it.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel either; it's too old and outdated in every way. The bed is very hard, with an old-fashioned mattress; you might worry that the springs might seep through the sheets. Although it's cheap, there are always better options, unless it's a special occasion. In short, I strongly advise against this hotel.

The room was spacious and had all the amenities. I hadn't planned on staying at this hotel, but the one Trip.com arranged for me was very nice. I didn't have breakfast so I can't say for sure.

The hotel is in a very good location. The service is 8/10. In the evening, there are not many staff at the counter. Some days you have to wait. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned. The room has a partition at the head of the bed, making the room narrow. The cleanliness is 8/10. But all the amenities are complete in front of the hotel. Hair salon, 7-11, coffee shop, massage shop, restaurant. You can walk to Tha Phae Gate and Night Plaza Market comfortably, not far away. If you compare everything with the price, it is considered reasonable. It's worth it. Overall 8/10👌🫰

The location is 500 meters from the ancient city. The hotel room is OK. The swimming pool has not been cleaned for a long time and there is no special maintenance.

The room is nice and has personality

To be honest, the hotel is old, but I have stayed here every year for seven or eight years in a row. I still think it is important that the hotel is clean and the surrounding area is convenient. Overall it is good. I can sleep by the pool all afternoon

Although it is old, it is well kept. There are no problems with the effectiveness of the air conditioner and the temperature and amount of water in the shower. With parking lot. There is no surrounding noise. recommendation.
