Very nice and accommodating people and a casual boutique-like atmosphere. Beautiful view from the patio which sits right at the river. That’s the highlight of the hotel. The view was lovely! The room was clean and comfortable. It looked like they had new shower/bath combo, new drapes, bedspread, pictures, lamps, beds, and carpets. The nice lady we spoke with when we made the reservation said they thought the owner was doing a bigger renovation this winter, so I’m curious to see if that’s the case. Loved the shampoos, conditioner, soap, makeup remover towelette, and lotion. One complaint: The room is small and had a slight smell of stale cigarettes. It wasn’t bad enough to request a different room, but it was unpleasant. The hotel has a sign that there’s a $250 fee for smoking in the room. I noticed a large flower pot with sand and cigarette butts stuck in the sand. We were so unlucky to get that particular room with the cigarette pot right outside the door.

We booked this place due to good reviews. We were pleasantly surprised how clean the room was, the beautiful river view, and there was a balcony. The motel was quiet, the front desk girl was very friendly.

We were driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and this was our starting point. The motel is old school and older but it's been nicely maintained and updated. We got a balcony room with an absolutely lovely view of the river; it really is right on the rivers edge! The bathroom has a newer tub/shower and was nice. The bed was comfy, room was very clean and staff was very friendly. It's a mom and pop type place so don't expect fancy or modern. But it fit the bill for us very nicely!

This is a little hidden gem . The moment we walked in and walked to the balcony of the room, We seen guys fishing in the water for trout. That was a pleasant surprise. I have stayed at several places and Cherokee even Harrahs and this is got to be the cleanest room in the city. It was very quiet and nice with the water sitting on the balcony. There is about 20 rooms 10 upstairs and 10 downstairs so not a ton of people in and out parking can be tricky at times backing out but as long as you have someone looking out for you to back up, you’re good to go. I will definitely return and will recommend this motel. The staff was very nice and helpful.

What a nice retreat after a busy day exploring the Smokey Mountains. The room was clean and comfortable. Of course, sitting on a rocking chair on the balcony, hearing only the trickling of the river passing by was very soothing - what a treat. I liked everything about our stay, including the toiletries. The staff at the reception were very nice and helpful, and I would like to thank Patty in in particular for making us feel at home. Truly a gem.

This was our 2nd time there. The balcony view of the river is gorgeous, clean rooms and great service from the front desk to the housekeeper. I can’t wait to visit again. Nice place to stay for sure.

The outside was a little plain - but please don't let that put you off - the rooms are wonderful - new mattress - super inviting - great balcony on the river - staff was extremely nice - just a note no elevator so if anyone has mobility issues go with the first floor

We stayed here for our 49th wedding anniversary. The room was immaculate, the balcony overlooking the river was the most relaxing and peaceful place I have been in years. We are planning on returning often. Perfect getaway.

Very nice clean motel. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. It was peaceful sitting on the balcony over looking the river watching people tubing. There were 2 restaurants right down the street and we weren’t far from the center of town.
