JOYA Hotel Chengdu Taikoo Li

Stayed at Xiyue Hotel in Taikoo Li for four days during my trip to Chengdu. Here are my honest thoughts: The location is incredibly convenient; Taikoo Li is right outside, so we could shop until our legs ached and then just head straight back to the hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, ensuring a great night's sleep for both of us. Rita provided excellent service, responding quickly to our requests. At check-out, they even gave us a small panda plushie, which we loved. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Chengdu.

Stayed at Taikoo Li Xiyue with my family while visiting Chengdu, and we were quite satisfied overall. The location is incredibly convenient, right next to Taikoo Li, so it was perfect for dining and shopping without having to travel far. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was very quiet at night. A special shout-out to Rita, who gave us a cute little panda as a farewell gift when we checked out. The breakfast was good, and there were late-night snacks available every evening, which was lovely after a tiring day of sightseeing. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Chengdu.

My girlfriend and I chose The Temple House for our trip to Chengdu, and it was an excellent choice. It's right downstairs from Taikoo Li, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The room decor is very stylish, with soft furnishings from the Hermès-owned 'Shang Xia' brand, giving it a subtle yet high-quality feel. A big thank you to Rita for her thoughtful and attentive service in helping us with our room arrangements. The breakfast had a great variety and tasted good too. Overall, our stay was very comfortable, and they even gave us a small gift at check-out, which was a lovely touch. We'd definitely consider staying here again if we have the chance.

To anyone thinking of booking, please know that all the negative reviews for this hotel are absolutely accurate. In all my years of booking hotels, I've never encountered such a disaster. If you're looking to pay five-star prices for a hotel that feels like a budget chain, then go right ahead and book. As soon as I arrived, something felt off. How could it share signage with a 'Ji Hotel'? Turns out, it *is* basically a 'Ji Hotel'. They share an elevator, but in reality, there's only one working. Waiting for the elevator took anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, sometimes even longer. The room was small and dirty, with a weird layout. The bathroom had no partition or curtain for the shower, and nowhere to hang clothes. Do people just jump straight into bed after showering here? What kind of crazy designer came up with this? And they tout Hermes branding? Don't even get me started! The room only had sheer curtains, no proper ones. Even weirder for a supposed five-star hotel in the city center, the windows were open every day. I asked the housekeeper why, and they said there was a mosquito screen. Fine, then close the screen! But it wouldn't close. I told them to fix it, but when I returned, it was still open. Either the screen was broken or non-existent. I did see a switch that just beeped when pressed. No wonder I saw a mosquito plug-in by the bed when I first entered. The lights too were 'eco-friendly' – they'd automatically turn off when I left, making it gloomy and uninviting every time I came back. The air conditioning was 'storage' style; it would be quiet and not cool for a bit, then start making noise and blowing cold air. The door was loose and rattled with every gust of wind, waking me up countless times in the middle of the night from the AC and the door. The 'supper' was clearly just leftover breakfast items. The tea in the room was so bad it was undrinkable. This is, at best, a three-star hotel, but they're slapping a five-star label on it to deceive and mislead consumers into paying high prices. I just want to know how this place got a five-star rating – was it from Trip.com or did they rate themselves?

Breakfast was exquisite with a good variety of choices. A big thank you to Rita, who provided warm service and even helped us discover some hidden gems nearby. We were both very satisfied with our stay of several days and highly recommend it!

The room was a little small, but everything else was quite good. Especially the breakfast, which is served until 1 PM. It's very close to Chunxi Road, and you can even see the big screen of Chunxi Road from the hotel. They even gave a little panda plushie to the kids when we checked out, which was a lovely touch.
