"This was the second boutique B&B we chose for our Hunan trip, and according to my friend, it's considered the best in Fenghuang Ancient Town. Actually, before choosing this hotel, I was quite conflicted because there were two options. One focused on the view, offering a first-class river view right outside the window, while the other prioritized comfort, including both soft and hard amenities. Ultimately, I narrowed it down to two places: one with the amazing view but noticeably inferior hardware, software, and service, and the other being Tangshe. I finally went with Tangshe because a view always requires movement; no matter how beautiful a window frame is, it's not as good as stepping directly into the scenery. Let me share my thoughts and evaluation of Tangshe. **Environment:** To be honest, Tangshe's location isn't top-tier. The most beautiful part of Fenghuang Ancient Town is undoubtedly along the Tuojiang River, while Tangshe is closer to the town's center. The advantage, however, is that it's much quieter compared to the hustle and bustle along the river. For guests who prefer a peaceful retreat away from the crowds, Tangshe is a better choice. Considering everything, I gave it 4.5 points. **Service:** This deserves a huge thumbs up! Although most of the hotel staff are young, they are all very enthusiastic and polite. The hotel even has two dedicated butlers: one to answer and solve questions about accommodation and travel, and another for food and entertainment. Both were very responsible, and their responses were incredibly prompt and active. What deserves the most praise is the hotel's free laundry service (wash + dry), which was completed in as little as four hours – a huge convenience for travelers in summer. In short, the hotel's service (substantive, not just superficial) far surpasses many five-star hotels! **Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is excellent. Both the rooms and public areas are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. The only thing that needs improvement is the hotel's unique infinity pool. Perhaps because fewer guests use it, the cleaning and maintenance weren't as good. However, after bringing this to the hotel's attention, they took it very seriously and rectified the issue immediately, which is commendable. **Facilities:** The hotel boasts an infinity pool, which is quite rare in the ancient town outside of large five-star hotels. It's valuable for both photo ops and actual use (very practical in summer). Additionally, there's a small garden and a bar on the rooftop. The small garden has many succulents, making it a great spot for photos, while the bar is perfect for enjoying a drink with music in the evening and savoring a 'cup of life'. **In summary:** For guests who prefer a quiet environment, and have high expectations for hardware and service, this hotel is highly recommended as a top choice."

"This is a wonderful hotel! It's located in the center of the ancient city. The view from the balcony is stunning. The hotel has a very friendly atmosphere. The girls at the reception and the main lady are always happy to help you with anything you need. They arranged a transfer from the train station and found a driver to take us to the hotel. We then arranged for the driver to take us to Tongren Airport the next day. A little about the driver: Reliability, good attitude, quick response, and a reasonable price for the service. About the room: Very beautiful interior and design. Clean and snow-white bed linens, soft pillows, and comfortable beds. Good plumbing in the bathroom. There are rubber slippers. The shower has good water pressure and excellent towels. Hotels in the ancient city usually provide disposable towels, but this hotel had regular, good towels. I was very happy about this. 😊 The tea area and balcony access are separate, aesthetic spaces for enjoying the atmosphere of the ancient city and immersing yourself in the culture. A tip for travelers with sensitive hearing: stay out late and enjoy the night views, and use earplugs before bed. The hotel is located in the center of the ancient city, so be aware that there are many cafes nearby with loud music—an integral part of the evening atmosphere. Our room was on the 4th floor. There is no elevator, like many hotels located on both sides of the river. This is a unique and exclusive feature of this place. We knew about this, and it wasn't a problem for us. I recommend this hotel!"

"Very close to the ancient city pier, just a short walk of less than 200 meters through the streets and alleys. The service was excellent, and it offered great value for money. The room was spacious and bright, and the breakfast was plentiful. Parking was very convenient. It truly felt like home."

"This hotel is right next to the Maglev train station, making transportation incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to the ancient city and the scenic area's center. The butler service was exceptional; they answered all our questions thoroughly and even helped us with our luggage. They also gave us a parting gift. Our room was spacious and clean, and our river view king room offered a great view of the Tuojiang River. It was very quiet at night, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. While the breakfast selection wasn't vast, the rice noodles were delicious and had a great chewy texture. I highly recommend this guesthouse."

"Exceptional Stay! Beautiful, Spotless Hotel and Unmatched Hospitality Our stay at the Sulv Lianhua Hotel was absolutely perfect, largely thanks to the incredible hospitality we received. A special, heartfelt thank you to Qing Qing, who went above and beyond to make our trip memorable! She greeted us with a wonderful room upgrade to an incredibly beautiful, traditionally styled room that we fell in love with instantly. As someone who is very sensitive to odors, I was incredibly impressed by how clean the room was—there was absolutely no smell at all. Many hotels, especially in historic areas, struggle with a sewage smell, but this hotel was perfectly fresh and spotless. Throughout our stay, Qing Qing was exceptionally responsive to every single question we had. She even helped us arrange a free ride to the station and kindly granted us a late check-out, which made our departure entirely stress-free. Fenghuang itself is magical—the town is so vibrant, and the views at night are absolutely stunning. We cannot thank Qing Qing and the hotel enough. Highly, highly recommend!"

"This is a really nice, tidy, and clean hotel. The rooms are stylish, well-maintained, very clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location is especially convenient for families, as taxis can drive directly to the hotel, so there is no need to carry luggage through the ancient city. The area is also quiet and peaceful, making it ideal for a good night’s sleep, unlike some parts of the ancient city, which can be quite noisy. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel to other travelers."

"Traveling with five people, including seniors and children, we stayed at this hotel and were extremely satisfied! From the moment we got off the train, taxi drivers kept trying to recommend other hotels, claiming this one was too far and hard to get to. In reality, there's a small path directly from the hotel into the ancient town, which is incredibly convenient – much more so than those budget hotels or guesthouses. Every staff member we encountered was wonderful. The front desk attendant even gave the kids a small toy that he paid for himself. One evening, when we were all heading to the ancient town, it started raining, and the hotel manager even arranged a car to take us to Wubridge, even though I had only booked a basic room. The hotel's buffet dinner had unlimited fresh crayfish, and the lamb chops were delicious! The small pastries were also excellent! There were only a few tables dining at dinner, but they certainly didn't cut corners. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the train station in a business van, which was perfect for our group of five, otherwise we would have needed two taxis. It's a free service (remember to call ahead to book). The housekeeping auntie was also very kind and always smiling when she brought us things. The young staff clearing plates at the buffet were very diligent, and the tables were always spotless. All in all, for this price, service, and dining standard, this is definitely the number one choice in Fenghuang Ancient Town – unparalleled. "Getting to the hotel from Zhangjiajie West Station by taxi costs 23 yuan. The hotel is very close to the A/B/C cable car entrances for Tianmen Mountain. Near the McDonald's, there's a bus to the Wulingyuan National Forest Park Archway (East Gate) for 13 yuan per person, so the hotel's location is excellent. The hotel entrance is unassuming, and you need a key card to access your room via the elevator after check-in. The room itself is spacious, bright, comfortable, and very clean, with complete amenities. It includes a refrigerator and a hairdryer, but no safe. The bath and hand towels are individually packaged, and there's a disposable toilet seat cover, along with two 75% ethanol (disinfectant alcohol) wipes. The shower room is large and even has a fixed, retractable clothesline (something I've only seen in international hotels before). The staff are warm and attentive. The breakfast selection is very rich, offering both Chinese and Western options, comparable to what you'd find in a four or five-star hotel. I saw a few foreigners dining there. It seems there's also a Zhangjiajie tourism service in the lobby, but we had our own itinerary, so I didn't pay much attention to it."
