Crowne Plaza CHAOZHOU RIVERSIDE by IHG

For my trip to Chaoshan this time, my friends recommended the Crowne Plaza Hotel. After landing at the airport, we drove straight to the hotel and checked in right away. The hotel environment is very nice, quiet, and not noisy, and it's very convenient to drive to all the attractions. Beverly's service at the hotel was also very satisfactory; she was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Since I was traveling with two older relatives, she very kindly arranged for our rooms to be close to each other. If I come back to Chaozhou again, Crowne Plaza Hotel will definitely be my choice.

The room was very comfortable and the location was convenient. I really appreciated the complimentary first round of the minibar. The view from the window was beautiful, with a clear sight of the Han River in Chaozhou. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Chaozhou.

The hotel upgraded us to a deluxe mountain view room, and the two 1.35m single beds were very comfortable. The memory foam pillows provided were also of good quality. This really must be the most upscale hotel in the Chaozhou area. Environment: The hotel is right by the river downstairs, and you can walk to the Thai Temple and Han Wen Gong Ancestral Temple. Cleanliness: We noticed some hair in the room that hadn't been cleaned up, and the bathroom floor needs more attention. Also, there was an occasional drain odor on our floor. As a benchmark hotel in Chaozhou, the cleanliness still needs improvement. Breakfast: The hotel breakfast was quite extensive, with many freshly made local specialties, and the Western selection was also high quality.

The room is spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of Guangji Bridge. All facilities are new, and the service is excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel's 3rd-floor Chaoshan restaurant serves delicious food, so you don't even need to leave the hotel for meals. It's not far from the ancient city, easily accessible on foot or by taxi. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Chaozhou.

The service was great, truly standard IHG-level service. When I called the front desk from my room, it was always an AI answering. The location is fantastic, super close to Kaiyuan Temple and Buddha Temple, easily walkable. You can also reach Han Wengong Temple with a short bike ride. My only minor complaint is that the entrance door to my room was extremely close to the adjacent room's entrance door, almost too close. The room layout was quite unique but well-designed. It had a single sink and a non-Dyson hairdryer. There was no vanity mirror. The water pressure for the shower was a bit unstable at night. It did have a bathtub, but no bath salts. If you time it right, you can enjoy the Guangji Bridge light show while soaking. There was a smart toilet that required manual flushing and a small speaker with somewhat poor sound quality. Turndown service was not provided. The gym had a limited selection of equipment, just some fixed and cardio machines. It was disappointing not to find a Smith machine, especially since there was plenty of space – they could definitely consider adding more. Overall, I'm satisfied.

The room directly faces Guangji Bridge, and both the daytime views and the nighttime light show are absolutely stunning. The room service was also very prompt and attentive, and the buffet was excellent. This is definitely the best hotel to stay at when visiting Chaozhou.

Everything was great except for the breakfast, which didn't have much variety and tasted pretty average (though the restaurant ambiance was nice). Still, it's a hotel worth rebooking.

I stayed here once when it first opened and had a great impression. This is my second stay, and I still think it's excellent. The facilities are well-maintained, and the service is spot on. A special shout-out to the staff at the lobby bar – they are truly thoughtful. A huge thumbs up!
