Teochew Minglin Mansion

Nestled within the ancient city walls, the courtyard is beautifully maintained, with every turn offering a new scenic view. The service is excellent; the butler contacted us in advance with important tips and a guide for local attractions. The room, though not large, is exquisitely decorated and perfect for families with older children, providing a private space.

The air in the room was incredibly fresh, and the bedding smelled like it had been sun-dried. The afternoon sun was lovely. Even though it's an old house that's been renovated, the interior was very clean and tidy, with even the corners spotless. The best part was that when we checked in, the owner gave us a local travel guide. It covered special attractions and local snacks, and was even more detailed than the guide we'd prepared ourselves! It included things like the opening and closing times for Guangji Bridge, the estimated Didi (ride-hailing) fare to Han Wen Gong Ci, and even tips for avoiding bad street-side herbal fruit vendors! When we checked out, they even gave us a Chaozhou souvenir. The owner was super nice! The room was clean, and the service was warm and welcoming!

Unexpectedly good! It's a two-story LOFT setup, and what's really impressive is the guesthouse design that incorporates historical elements. It's built on the original site of Lin Xichun's mansion from the Ming Dynasty, giving it an elegant ambiance. Located right in the heart of the ancient city, it's super convenient for sightseeing. We even received a souvenir when we checked out. Highly recommended!

Minglin House is a charming guesthouse nestled in an alleyway, where traditional elegance meets modern design. The guesthouse boasts an excellent location, just around the corner from the bustling Paifang Street, making it super convenient to get to all the nearby attractions. It was a truly delightful stay, and I look forward to visiting again.
