The hotel is right by the river, next to Guangji Bridge. You walk through the shop front into a courtyard, and you can tell the owner put a lot of effort into planting so many flowers and plants, though it's a pity it doesn't get much sunlight. The owner's family was very welcoming and answered all our questions, recommending great places to eat and visit. We also got to try a lot of their excellent Dancong tea.

Our family came to Chaozhou and booked a stay at Huazhu Dongmen Inn through Trip.com, located in the old town. This inn is incredibly convenient, just over 100 meters from Chaozhou's most famous attractions, Guangji Tower and Guangji Bridge. It's also only a hundred meters away from Paifang Street, Zhenhai Tower, and many renowned restaurants. What's more, it offers the unique experience of taking an elevator straight to the rooftop tea bar to enjoy a tea and watch the Guangji Bridge light show. Despite being so central, it's surprisingly peaceful. The staff at the inn were also incredibly thoughtful, especially Ms. Yingtao. She was so welcoming and not only provided excellent service but also proactively introduced us to Chaozhou, making us feel the warmth and kindness of the local people.

The room facilities are complete and the owner is very nice. I'll definitely book this place again next time. It's also very close to the snack street.

The toughest mattress I’ve ever slept on..the room listing is titled “Deep Sleep Mattress…” - that’s highly questionable, imho you can literally feel each spring underneath. The auto-toilet light is on constantly, and the bathroom door is made of smokescreen glass, so when you are sleeping you still see a blue glow coming through the glass door. The toilet seat has black scuff marking, one of the bath towel has blood stains. Water doesn’t drain well in the sink nor in the shower. The redeeming points are the location and the helpful staff. As for a comfortable stay - not so much.

My daughter booked this hotel, and it turned out to be fantastic value for money! The room was cozy and spacious, which put me in a great mood. It's also super close to all the attractions and delicious food spots. I absolutely loved it, definitely a big thumbs up! The hotel itself is actually located within a scenic area, making it perfect for photos and checking in on social media. The owner even recommended some local cultural activities that were spot on and high quality. I highly recommend this hotel.
