We recently booked a private room at The Three Crowns in Chagford to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. On the day itself, the floor staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and truly made the occasion special for my mum.Unfortunately, dealing with the venue's administration and management before and after the event has been an absolute nightmare. From the start, communication was incredibly difficult. It took numerous frustrating phone calls and emails just to secure a firm, final quote. We eventually agreed on a package for buffet food which explicitly included free tea and coffee. However, when I paid the final bill on the day, I realised we had been wrongfully charged for all the teas and coffees.Since then, I have made countless phone calls and sent multiple emails to the manager, Simon. Every time, I have been fobbed off with empty promises and false reassurances that a refund was on its way. Months later, nothing has been sorted and the promised refund has never arrived. It is completely evident that the management has no interest in following through on their word or correcting their financial mistakes. Resolving this has been exhausting and time-consuming. I have never left a negative review for a business before, but I feel so let down by this experience that I want to warn others. The staff on the day were wonderful, but the management is completely untrustworthy.
