We stayed at Villa d’Este for our second trip to Lake Como. Very pleased with the experience. Food is excellent, pool is beautiful and housekeeping is impeccable. The hotel is located on a beautiful lakefront property with sprawling grounds. Service is prompt and attentive in the classic European style, very great touch. One delicate point, we did get some attitude from the concierge one evening when we asked for a hotel valet to take us in our own vehicle barely 400 meters to the Villa Erba because I was wearing 15cm heels, they promptly refused with cheeky Italian flair as the hotel valet drove our vehicle few hundred meters back into the garage, the irony was not lost on us. All in all, it was a memorable experience and we highly recommend Villa d’Este to anyone visiting Lake Como.

This hotel with only one star must have at least three: a surprise discovery in the hills of Cernobbio. First reaction at arrival: here we come back. A pleasant restaurant, very nice room with air-conditioning, parking around the corner, friendly staff, breakfast is enough. Many locals come here to eat and that says enough. A recommendation ,also for people with children. The village on the lake is just 390 stairs below, a beautiful walk. We recommend this hotel from heart and come back here!

Situated in a residential area, high up, with great views of the lake. Very quiet location. Hotel gives a very good impression of a high class establishment, with large entrance, bar, and restaurant with great views over the lake. Room was fine and bathroom very good with plenty of amenities. Como town is 7km away and restaurants are in the historic old town - well worth a visit - but don't try to walk it! It's too far, and coming back, it's all uphill! Hotel has a private car park - bit expensive at 15 Euros per night - but there is a small public free park just close by - but very difficult to find a free place. Breakfast buffet very good. Negative - no tea making facilities in the room and only Italian TV channels
