Cayucos Hotels & Accommodations

This was our first time staying in Cayucos. We didn’t realize this hotel is a “pet friendly” location until after our reservation was made. Not being pet owners, we were a bit concerned at first, but the many positive reviews we read about the hotel convinced us to give it a try. We were pleased to find how clean, comfortable and spacious our upstairs room was. It was very quiet at all times. The grounds are very well maintained, and the staff were all very courteous and helpful. Conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, nearby restaurants and the pier. We will definitely plan to stay here again on our next rip to Cayucos.

Located in Cayucos, The Pacific Motel is in the historical district, a 3-minute walk from Cayucos State Beach and 11 minutes by foot from Cayucos Pier. This beautifully appointed B & B is only about a block from the ocean, has views of the ocean from 2nd floor rooms, jacuzzi tubs, delicious gourmet breakfast daily with gluten free choice if needed, cookies and milk delivered to your room nightly if wanted, gas fireplaces in your room, reverse osmosis water in each room, mostly soundproof rooms for a peaceful experience! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We will definitely return to to the Cayucos Sunset Inn Bed & Breakfast! One of the most pleasant stays we've ever had in this town.

The hotel is located on the side of the highway, convenient and provides free parking spaces. But the hotel does not have a free breakfast. The hotel is in a small and quiet town very close to the sea.

The hotel is very new and very clean! It's easy to find just out of the highway! Breakfast is a simple American breakfast, eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, etc., which is very good. It's very close to Morro Bay, the weather is good, you can go to the beach, and there are many people surfing. The scenery along the way is beautiful

This hotel was able to accommodate our request for a roll-away bed, which was what we needed. The queen beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is perfect: sink is outside of the shower/toilet room. There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning (only a heater), so the room gets stuffy unless you leave the window open (which lets in outside sound, too). This did not bother us at all. We all slept comfortably. We were in a downstairs ”balcony room”, which doesn't get a great view of the Rock, just partial view. If you want a view, request a balcony room in the upper floor (but you will have to carry all your luggage up stairs). There was minor thumping from the upstairs room, only occasionally, and it never bothered us. The sound insulation is pretty good. The breakfast is not that great, but they do have a waffle maker, which can be fun for kids. The only yogurt they have is ”Trix” yogurt. I presume this is for kids...neon colored, sugary... However, there is some fresh fruit, cereals, milk, juice, assorted rolls, and chocolate muffins (for the kids, I guess). This is sufficient fuel to get going in the morning. The mini-fridge is very mini. The microwave and fridge are in the closet. Strange, but they work. There is a pretty cool hot tub room to relax in, but this is not really that important to me to have on trips. All-in-all, this is a good, clean, hotel, that had everything we needed for our short stay in Morro Bay.

Perfectly fine stay. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Perhaps the photos flatter the place. The room was a little tatty, the bathroom was clean but tired, breakfast was disappointing. It felt poor value for money but based on other prices locally, perhaps it wasn't. Excellent location. The waterfront is a five-minute walk away, and there are plenty of eateries in Embarcadero.
