The hotel room is very comfortable compared to the downtown hotel, but the traffic is inconvenient. I moved from the city center and thought it would be closer to the airport. It was not as convenient as taking the subway to the airport in the city center, but the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was great.

Such a great value choice. We stayed in a premier line double room duplex with roof terrace and sea view. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the beach (road in between hotel and beach but doesn’t spoil things) and a large roof terrace with sun loungers and day bed. We chose to pay for the optional jacuzzi on the roof terrace which was heated to 38 degrees and so lovely to use in the evenings. The duplex large upper level has a big sofa where our teenager slept and he enjoyed his privacy and had his own tv (we paid a supplement per night as children over 4 years old are classed as an adult). There is a large sofa bed at the base of the main bed too. The room also has a proper fridge and kitchenette so we walked to the carrefour express attached to the petrol station (15 min walk) and made ourselves lunch one day to eat on the balcony. Housekeeping were really efficient and our room was quiet. We were really pleased with the modern room with large shower which was powerful and shower gel/shampoo provided. We booked with the hotel direct online. The outdoor pool was not heated so looked gorgeous in April but was very cold. There is a heated pool at the hotel in the block across the road so you can swim lengths and there is a pool temperature jacuzzi there too. This is a indoor pool. This alternative part of the hotel (I think they are apartments) seemed popular but we were glad we were positioned in the main part of the hotel with sea views as it seemed so much nicer. The staff in the hotel were friendly and looked after our cases on the last day so we could walk on the beach before our flight. We felt really safe at this hotel and in the area. The promenade runs right along the long beach with lovely bars/restaurants serving delicious food and the hotel is located in a peaceful and quiet area. We especially liked the pizzas in the restaurant on the road opposite. The bus to Barcelona centre costs 2.40Euros and goes from the road behind the hotel. They run until about 9pm and it takes 50 minutes to get into the city. A metered taxi from the centre home late at night costs about 40 Euros and takes 30 minutes. Barcelona was so busy over the Bank Holiday weekend that it was a pleasure to return back to Castelldefells after a day being in the city. We easily got a metered taxi outside the airport to get to the hotel for around 26Euros. The taxis also take credit cards. We were really pleased we chose this hotel and had a wonderful long weekend there. I am really looking forward to coming back as it is a very good value 4 star hotel offering a touch of luxury in a lovely location outside of Barcelona. Thank you for our stay!

Hotel Playafels has been a 'landmark' of Castelldefels for decades serving as a hall for weddings, NYE parties, etc. It has been recently renovated and it overlooks the beach. We were impressed to see the 4 star rating, but after staying there for ten days, we concluded it still has some work to do before it can be considered as such. Much like any other experience in life, much of the impression one has of institutions, restaurants, etc. is about the attitude of the staff who face the public. If the receptionist is accommodating, we'll walk away thinking 'hotel Playafels' is great, etc. We did not expect of a 4-star hotel to ask us to bring our bottle of wine down to the reception area to be opened when we asked for a corkscrew... Instead, we expected the hotel to offer / send us a 2 Euro corkscrew (in fact, why wasn't there one as part of the mini bar in the first place?). When you have rooms with big balconies overlooking the ocean, wouldn't it be predictable this would be a needed accessory? We ended up buying one from around the corner but the question remained: ”would a 4-star hotel deny its guests a corkscrew?”. We think not. Other items that made it fall short of its 4-star rating: holding back on providing coffee pods ”for fear that people might steal them for their consumption at home” is what a maid shared. Wait, people would come here and pay the equivalent of $150 per night to take coffee pods home? Something does not add up there... A 4-star hotel does not make its guests ask at reception for coffee pods before making their way up to their rooms at night... And, lastly, masks were not enforced 100% of the time at reception area and the connecting restaurant. Many a times we witnessed staff being too lax about it at the height of the current pandemic. And we were never asked to present our vaccination card or even verbally to declare our vaccination status. Hotel Playafels is endearing to us and we want it to prosper; but they still need to do some work before the 4-star rating can be believed completely.

I had such a great time at this hotel. I was just doing a quick trip to and from Barcelona and decided to stay here for two nights instead of the airport hotel, and what a good choice I made. It’s right on the beach, and a very lovely beach it is too, the bed was super comfy, the rain shower amazing, great quiet air con, amazing sea views (worth paying extra for), really kind service, lovely pool. The restaurant is also superb - I’ve attached some pics of my meals. I ate in the hotel restaurant both nights because it was that good. I’ll definitely come back to this hotel. Also it’s by far the most modern and beautiful hotel along the shoreline when you walk down it - trust me.

Good location being across the road from the beautiful sandy beach. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast Buffett was good with lots of choice. Pool area nice. Good Air con I would stay in the area again as I really liked the place. There are some beautiful restaurants with lots to choose from and the beach is just beautiful. I would not choose this hotel again , it definitely is not a 4 star more a 3 star. The rooms are very tired and in need of renovation as are the public areas. There is a stale smell in the corridors which wasn’t very pleasant. All in all had a very enjoyable stay but would stay elsewhere if I was to visit in the future due to the above. I feel the hotel is overpriced for the standard of accommodation.

(10/23/22) - Studio w Balcony, $70 per night. We had a nice time at the ApartHotel Centric in Castelldefels. We chose this hotel for our last few days of our vacation to Spain because it was close to the airport. We discovered that Castelldefels is a wonderful visit on its own. We found this resort very affordable and in a good location. The room was up to date and met our expectations. We found many good restaurants nearby to enjoy. The room was up to date and met our expectations. The bathroom and bedroom were very large and room had all the features that we were promised. We both thought twin beds sat lower to ground we’d like and were a little uncomfortable. The self-check in was a little daunting for a senior citizen who isn’t the most tech savvy. Unlocking the hotel entrance and hotel room with my cell phone was a new experience for me. We eventually were able to figure it out. Never met our host, but I think he was close by if we needed him. Overall we were happy at this hotel. ApartHotel Centric is a nice place in a convenient location. When comparing price and amenities, it met our expectations. We would recommend a stay at this hotel if you’re not intimidated by the high tech check in process and you don’t need on site hotel staff.

We stayed for the weekend 2 adults and 3 kids of 7, 10, 12 years. My kids attraction was the pool. Unfortunately we could only get acces to the pool from 10-19, in steed of 8-21 as marked on the pool instructions. I asked if we could go earlyer because we want to avoid the sun, but the receptionist sayd it was not possible. Furthermore our internet in the room was not working. I went to the reception, but there I had the same problem. Beneth those issues we were happy with our stay.

Great little hotel only a short walk to beaches and restaurants. The hotel and rooms are nothing fancy with basic amenities, but since everything else you could need is literally less than a five minute walk away it makes no difference. Nice terrace out front for evening drinks before going out, or for breakfast. Breakfast itself is basic but more than adequate to start your day. Rooms are very clean and staff are very welcoming and courteous. I've stayed at 139 on a couple of occasions for both business and tourism and will stay there again in the future.

We needed a room just for a day between the flights. The staff was amazing to allow us to have an early check in. The room was very good, bed was very comfortable, shower amazing. A lot of space in the room. I would definitely give this hotel 3 stars not 2. There was water and some chocolates in the room complimentary. Very quite location, we wanted to rest, and no one was disturbing us.

We chose this hotel for our last few days of our vacation to Spain because it was close to the airport. We discovered that Castelldefels is a wonderful visit on its own. We found this resort very affordable and in a good location. The room was up to date and met our expectations. We found many good restaurants nearby to enjoy. The room was up to date and met our expectations. The bathroom and bedroom were very large and room had all the features that we were promised. We both thought twin beds sat lower to ground we’d like and were a little uncomfortable. The self-check in was a little daunting for a senior citizen who isn’t the most tech savvy. Unlocking the hotel entrance and hotel room with my cell phone was a new experience for me. We eventually were able to figure it out. Never met our host, but I think he was close by if we needed him. Overall we were happy at this hotel. ApartHotel Centric is a nice place in a convenient location. When comparing price and amenities, it met our expectations. We would recommend a stay at this hotel if you’re not intimidated by the high tech check in process and you don’t need on site hotel staff.

We stayed for the weekend 2 adults and 3 kids of 7, 10, 12 years. My kids attraction was the pool. Unfortunately we could only get acces to the pool from 10-19, in steed of 8-21 as marked on the pool instructions. I asked if we could go earlyer because we want to avoid the sun, but the receptionist sayd it was not possible. Furthermore our internet in the room was not working. I went to the reception, but there I had the same problem. Beneth those issues we were happy with our stay.

The airport taxi is about 30 Euros to the hotel. The 94/95 bus at the hotel entrance is 2.2 Euros directly to Plaza de España and Catal. Ronia Square, the car is about 40 minutes without traffic jam, it is very convenient

Good location being across the road from the beautiful sandy beach. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast Buffett was good with lots of choice. Pool area nice. Good Air con I would stay in the area again as I really liked the place. There are some beautiful restaurants with lots to choose from and the beach is just beautiful. I would not choose this hotel again , it definitely is not a 4 star more a 3 star. The rooms are very tired and in need of renovation as are the public areas. There is a stale smell in the corridors which wasn’t very pleasant. All in all had a very enjoyable stay but would stay elsewhere if I was to visit in the future due to the above. I feel the hotel is overpriced for the standard of accommodation.

I had such a great time at this hotel. I was just doing a quick trip to and from Barcelona and decided to stay here for two nights instead of the airport hotel, and what a good choice I made. It’s right on the beach, and a very lovely beach it is too, the bed was super comfy, the rain shower amazing, great quiet air con, amazing sea views (worth paying extra for), really kind service, lovely pool. The restaurant is also superb - I’ve attached some pics of my meals. I ate in the hotel restaurant both nights because it was that good. I’ll definitely come back to this hotel. Also it’s by far the most modern and beautiful hotel along the shoreline when you walk down it - trust me.

Hotel Playafels has been a 'landmark' of Castelldefels for decades serving as a hall for weddings, NYE parties, etc. It has been recently renovated and it overlooks the beach. We were impressed to see the 4 star rating, but after staying there for ten days, we concluded it still has some work to do before it can be considered as such. Much like any other experience in life, much of the impression one has of institutions, restaurants, etc. is about the attitude of the staff who face the public. If the receptionist is accommodating, we'll walk away thinking 'hotel Playafels' is great, etc. We did not expect of a 4-star hotel to ask us to bring our bottle of wine down to the reception area to be opened when we asked for a corkscrew... Instead, we expected the hotel to offer / send us a 2 Euro corkscrew (in fact, why wasn't there one as part of the mini bar in the first place?). When you have rooms with big balconies overlooking the ocean, wouldn't it be predictable this would be a needed accessory? We ended up buying one from around the corner but the question remained: ”would a 4-star hotel deny its guests a corkscrew?”. We think not. Other items that made it fall short of its 4-star rating: holding back on providing coffee pods ”for fear that people might steal them for their consumption at home” is what a maid shared. Wait, people would come here and pay the equivalent of $150 per night to take coffee pods home? Something does not add up there... A 4-star hotel does not make its guests ask at reception for coffee pods before making their way up to their rooms at night... And, lastly, masks were not enforced 100% of the time at reception area and the connecting restaurant. Many a times we witnessed staff being too lax about it at the height of the current pandemic. And we were never asked to present our vaccination card or even verbally to declare our vaccination status. Hotel Playafels is endearing to us and we want it to prosper; but they still need to do some work before the 4-star rating can be believed completely.

Good location being across the road from the beautiful sandy beach. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast Buffett was good with lots of choice. Pool area nice. Good Air con I would stay in the area again as I really liked the place. There are some beautiful restaurants with lots to choose from and the beach is just beautiful. I would not choose this hotel again , it definitely is not a 4 star more a 3 star. The rooms are very tired and in need of renovation as are the public areas. There is a stale smell in the corridors which wasn’t very pleasant. All in all had a very enjoyable stay but would stay elsewhere if I was to visit in the future due to the above. I feel the hotel is overpriced for the standard of accommodation.
