Best Hotels in Carthage

Entirely impressed and surprised by how nice the property and room were. I was nervous about a “Days Inn”, but it was nicer than some higher end brands that charge a lot more. Breakfast could’ve had a few more options, but otherwise very happy with my stay and exceeded my expectations.

Firstly let me begin by dispelling a few misconceptions. This hotel is ON BASE and NOT candlewood suits outside of the gate near WALMART. The candlewood on Ft Drum Was only built in November 2018. Its spotlessly clean. The furniture is new. The staff are exceptionally accommodating and friendly. It’s in a beautiful quiet setting. Again... ON Ft Drum. We had my daughters wedding at the Commons and so 30 guests stayed at the hotel. They were all impressed by the value for money, the hot hearty breakfast and the shuttle the hotel arranged for us before and after our event. This hotel and staff superseded all our expectations and I along with our 30 guests give them 5 stars. We’ve used this hotel several times to stay while visiting family. It’s centrally located, near I 81 with east on/off accessibility. Close to restaurants, shopping and such. The hotel itself is clean. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is professional and friendly. What else can you ask for.

I'm writing this while here at 4 am because I can't sleep. These are the most uncomfortable beds I've ever laid on. Feels like a board of plywood. My back and hips hurt incredibly. I didn't even know that beds this uncomfortable even existed. So frustrating when you try to go away for a little rest. Sadly we still have another night to go and I'm not looking forward to another sleep.
