First off, I felt unsafe and that my car might be vandalized. With the exception of checking out, I find the staff to be extraordinarily rude. Before you think I'm Karening, I came to check in at 2:15 (admittedly my fault for not knowing the time or that check in was at 3:00). After waiting about 5 minutes while two staff members argued in the back room, the woman came out and when I said I was there to check in, she angry-sarcastically asked ”Did someone tell you to come in here because check in is at 3. Is it 3? No, it's not”. When I asked if there was something close that I could do for 40 minutes she just said no. When I asked if there was a place nearby to eat she said no, but you can drive around to find something. When I opened my room, the smell hit me like a physical blow. I wish I could photograph a smell!!! The last person must have been there a long, long time (in guessing many months) and chain smoked in it the entire time. My asthma was instantly flared (didn't have my inhaler with me, which made it worse). I immediately went back and said the room is so smoky and she said she knew and that's why I didn't get charged a deposit but there were no other rooms. I immediately went to buy cleaning supplies and air fresheners. I spent hours washing down all surfaces and walls and floor. It never really made a dent in m how bad the room reeked. I put several air fresheners on the air unit to help more. It didn't. The room was filthy. Two of the three entry door locks were broken and the door jamb was broken, like someone had kicked the door in at one point. The outside of the refrigerator was beyond nasty. The back of the toilet didn't have the right lid. The mirror was not above the sink but to the side so you had to stand against the toilet to see yourself to get ready in the morning. The bathtub didn't hold water for a bath so I had to cut off part of a bread wrapper and hold it with my heel. The toilet paper holder was loose in the wall and the toilet paper fell off every time. The toilet paper roll was almost empty on my arrival (it had 9 squares left). I was there for 8 days and never once got new towels or wash cloth. One washcloth, one hand towel and one towel was all I ever had. They also never took the trash out. The groceries I put in the refrigerator on day one froze overnight, completely ruining two crispers full of salad, fruits and veggies. The bed was like sleeping on a board. It was difficult to even get comfortable enough to fall asleep and I was in extreme pain every morning when I woke up. The pillows were comfortable, but that's it. I'm pretty sure the bedding came from the Dollar Store (if so, they over paid). There were no hangers in the closet at all. There's also no dresser, just two shelves. There was a full kitchenette but no toaster, stove, silverware, plates, bowls or glasses. I had to go buy them all for my 8 day stay. I think the pictures tell a better story of this nightmare. Btw, I travel a LOT and neve

I have been in hotels for the last three weeks, and I have been surprised to see complete lack of customer service, quality of products, and how RUDE hospitality and Lodging employees are. For instance I stayed at a beautiful Holiday Inn express yesterday close to Addison. And I was shocked, even angry at how RUDE and disrespectful housekeeping was to me. Two girls in the stairway, called me a gabacha, and vejita. It was close to bullying. Breakfast server, was just hideously rude, and even the front desk clerk( am) shift was grotesquely power hungry.( My key was demagnetized, when I went out to smoke, I asked her to rescan it which she verified tons of information on my hotel folio, which I appreciated, until after I had given all the correct answers, she began to speak to me as her subordinate and tell me I should have had my ID with me... and she wouldn't do that again and even if I answered the questions... It went in and on.. until I finally told her I went out to smoke the key was fine when I went out. iT was her tone and mannerism. SHE WAS ALMOST ABUSING HER POWER OF EMPLOYMENT. Every employee that I encountered except for Brooklyn, and AhMAd, were almost abusive. THE HOTEL GM walked outside while I was smoking and stood with in 6 ft of me and for the entire ten minutes we were out there(alone) she never smiled at me, or even acknowledged my existence.,... I wondered if her employees thought it was ok to treat guests like that because she did. I don't know, it was kinda sad, it is a beautiful property, but the majority of staff were awful. Beds were great, decorations were beautiful, TV , showers everything was great... But staff made racial comments, and were I am embarrassed to say it.. but they were abusive. SORRY. IHG but this stay was a deal breaker.. Really soured me to Holiday Inns... Don't think I will be as loyal to the brand ever again, and I definitely won't go back to this property.
