Carlisle House Bed and Breakfast

This is my third time staying at the Carlisle House, and the first since new owners took it over in 2015. The B & B retains the same feeling, a historic house that is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful! We stayed one night on a long trip south to north, and were very happy to be back both at the B & B and in Carlisle.

We had a fantastic experience and will definitely stay here again. The staff was attentive, kind, and happy to take care of anything we needed during our stay. The room was charming, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

Walking in, the place is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are even better. I’ve stayed here twice, in two different rooms, and have felt right at home every time. The breakfast is amazing and staff are extremely. They will accommodate you and your family. Highly recommended!

Carolyn and Paul greeted us at the door of this beautiful bed and breakfast, right in the heart of an historic district and walkable to so many places. Super friendly hosts - knowledgeable about the area and had great recommendations about the local restaurants and things to do. We went to the Indian restaurant they recommended and had some of the best Indian food we'd ever had. We were only here one night, traveling from NC to NY, so we only had one breakfast; but what a breakfast it was! Fresh coffee (decaf made just for me, thank you!) grapefruit juice, bacon and brie and onion quiche (out of this world!) a warm cinnamon apple and crumbly topped pastry. All excellent! Would absolutely recommend this B & B. Beautiful state of the art bathroom in the Anna Woods room, too..........all in all, a perfect experience.

A charming establishment with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff . We were on a couples date night and had wonderful stay . Great location, with Lots to do and see all within walking distance to the historical district of Carlisle. We would definitely stay again

My wife and I stayed at the Carlisle House on Feb 27th, 2024. The website was very well done and was a strong reason for choosing this gem. In addition, Carolyn has installed a CCS charging port for my electric vehicle !!! The Inn was extremely clean and well appointed after a remodel the past two years. We will definitely look to stay here again. The location was perfect for a walk around downtown and a short walk to fine restaurants!! David

Carlisle House B&B is a treasure!! The rooms beautifully maintain the integrity of the old colonial house and are clean and inviting while having thoughtful modern amenities. Carolyn is a warm and welcoming hostess and makes a great quiche breakfast. We came for the cabinfever2 getaway and stayed in the Rose room. We got the S'mores add-on, and it was such a fun and delightful treat on a very cold afternoon. The new Core room was a peaceful and relaxing retreat (mats included) for my PT exercises. Carlisle is my hometown but I no longer have family here so I chose Carlisle House for its history and central location in this beautiful town. This was our second stay at Carlisle House and will be our go-to choice when we return for yearly class reunions and get-away time.

Excellent value for comfortable and clean B&b experience in a historic home. Carolyn was lovely on the morning of my departure and accommodated my non-dairy dietary restrictions. I had scrambled eggs, baked apples, and sausage. If you are a light sleeper (I live in NYC and I am not) you may wish to avoid the lovely and spacious Ewing room that faces the busy street. I did hear some snowplows and sirens, but living in New York, thar was not an issue. If it is, I would say choose the other 1st floor parlor room:) Within my room was a coffee machine and a small fridge with water and pepsi that was thoughtful. The robe in the room was also a nice touch for a chilly winter evening. The community room, microwave and tea kettle are up a flight of stairs due to the historic house layout. The breakfast area is off the lobby. Due to the fragility of the civil war era front doors and knobs, guests usually exit and enter from a side door once you have arrived with your luggage. Carolyn and her som were helpful getting me in and out of the front with my luggage. I would stay again if pricing was similar when business or another occasion brings me to Carlisle. Several restaurant options and a coffee shop within 2-3 block radius.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Carlisle House. The room was very nice, clean and cozy. Breakfast was delicious! We felt like we were staying with friends by the time we left. Highly recommend staying here!
