The Capetonian - Halal

The hotel is quite clean and has its own parking lot. The location is also very good and relatively safe. However, the soundproofing of the rooms is a bit poor. I stayed in the corner room and could hear the neighbors even in the middle of the night.

I had heard it was in a not-so-safe area, but there were no issues as cars could pull right up to the hotel entrance, and there's a security guard at the parking entrance, which made traveling by ride-sharing app perfectly fine. However, I'd definitely advise against walking, even for short distances. The staff were very helpful, and my stay was comfortable. I was too lazy to go out, so I ate at the hotel's restaurant several times, and it was excellent – delicious and inexpensive. I'd love to stay here again when I next visit Cape Town. I've attached photos of the delicious burger and T-bone steak I had at the restaurant.

Great location! Rooms facing Table Mountain offer fantastic views, and rooms on the other side overlook the harbor, but you'll need a high floor for either. The front desk staff, both day and night shifts, were incredibly helpful and patient. Breakfast was plentiful, with generous portions and delicious food. However, the bathroom in the standard double room was quite basic and had poor drainage.

The room was fantastic! It was very spacious, with a huge bed (looked like two single beds pushed together), a small living area, and a little balcony. Everything in the room was spotless!! The bedding was dry and soft. There were staff at the door to help bring luggage to the room, but we didn't have any cash for a tip, which I felt bad about! The hotel breakfast was plentiful and halal, which was perfect for us. For this price, getting a four-star hotel in Cape Town is incredible value for money! Highly recommend!

The room type I was initially given didn't match my reservation, and it had a very strong paint smell – every breath made my head and throat ache. There was no window either. I asked to switch rooms to the one I booked, but was told there were no rooms available. After a lot of back and forth, they finally moved me to the room type I had originally reserved, and this new room had no smell.
