Holiday Inn Express CAPE TOWN CITY CENTRE by IHG

The hotel's location is in the city center, close to all tourist attractions and only a 5-minute drive from Victoria Harbour. The room size is suitable for one person and is tidy. The facilities are small; the gym has a limited number of machines. The breakfast buffet is excellent and varied. The reception staff and cleaning crew are always smiling and friendly.

An excellent hotel! The rooms are a bit dated but quite spacious, and the price is very comfortable for what you get. The breakfast is definitely the highlight – a great variety of options, and the restaurant manager and staff were all wonderful. The hotel's location is also superb, with attractions all around. I'd happily choose to stay here again.

The bathroom lighting design isn't great. I really dislike the bluish-purple light, and the yellow spotlight has a 'breathing' effect, which always makes me feel like there's someone in the bathroom at night.

Would I stay at this hotel again? My answer is no. First, it's located on some kind of pedestrian street, which is very noisy in the evenings and at night. There are a lot of homeless people walking around and sleeping right on the street, so you don't feel very comfortable in this area. Second, there was a group from Russia staying there, and two of them had money stolen—one from their safe, and the other from their suitcase. I don't know how that situation was resolved. The breakfast was average, nothing amazing, but decent for the price.
