Hotel Blue Star Cancun

Cancun|0.49km from Catedral de la Santisima Trinidad
:) The hotel facilities were good, it had a pool and an open area for breakfast. Room was excellent, it was overly spacious, air con was working perfectly, bathroom was big and comfortable. Location was near downtown area, and staff worked 24/7. One of the staff members, who worked mainly in the evenings, and the manager (of course) caught our eyes. The male staff member I referred to was always smiling, happy to talk to guests, spoke excellent English, and new its business as he was able to provide us with good tips of the city and sort all other queries that we had. :( Shower head was the poorest ever. For those who like to shower, it may not be a good experience as water ran in drops. Spotted a stalactite falling off the ceiling above the toilet in need of repair. Breakfast shouldn't even be a meal on its own in this hotel as options were very limited (and low quality). For example, juices, fruits, and yogurts were difficult to eat (juice did not look good, fruits were of one or two types and seemed rotten, yogurts were a scarce item). Coffee was terrible - worse than tea. I couldn't drink it. Can't they brew coffee from an Arabic grounded source? Come on, it's Latin America! Other than this, you could ask for freshly cooked eggs every morning, but still it needed a bit of refinement (scrambled eggs looked smashed actually, pan looked old and full of dark crusts, and too oily - bad type of oil). One staff lady was not always happy to answer queries, could not give interesting tips about things to do in the city, and seemed unwilling to be available all the time for any issue. I was wondering if giving tips would solve this issue.... Obviously, it's not a place which the wealthiest go to. Also, there is no car park at this hotel. It is so far (40 min bus) from the hotel zone that those people willing to rent a car just can't do it because the hotel does not has space for cars (one needs to park at the sidewalk, which is too risky). If you do not know the rules of public parking, it's hard core.

I personally like the overall environment and decoration style, and the interior decoration is also very impactful. You can see the outside garden directly from the room, which is very beautiful. In the morning, I can watch the sky slowly light up. Towels, soap and shampoo are provided on the daily necessities, but not others. Door-to-door service for in-room dining, good value for money. It's just that the shower head is a bit broken, and there is no hot water by the way, but I didn't contact the front desk either. I don't know if it is broken or does not provide hot water.

Such a lovely hostel with a really great chill vibe. Liked staying here a lot, met soo many amazing people including the very friendly and welcoming staff always ready to help. The location is also really good right in downtown Cancún and it’s so easy to take a bus to the hotel zone and beach - which the staff also explained perfectly to me how to.

A bit dingy. Cheap but not worth it. The hotel is near Mercado 28 a good souvenir and local food complex. That is a positive. When I arrived late it took a while to wake up the recepcionist. The front gate was locked with chain and padlock ! Not very good value.

We are 3 girls and we reserved a night at this facility for December 17-18, we would have arrived in Cancun on 15, but from 15 to 17 we would have been in Valladolid; about two weeks earlier we sent a message to the facility asking if it was possibly leave the baggage from 15 to 17 at the building despite our reservation for 17-18, the building responded by telling us that they have a reduced space for the baggage, but if it was possible in terms of space, We could have quietly left the baggage. On 15, as mentioned, we arrived at the building and asked if it would have been possible to leave our things and they answered us super-smoothly saying they had not this service , when we knew that it was clearly not the truth because we had already communicated with the structure, we made this in mind and highlighted the fact that if we could also have paid for the service the receptionist suddenly changed Version telling us that we could have left the bags by paying them 400 pesos for two days! About 40 euros for two truly small baggage (the hand baggage you can carry on the aircraft)! Therefore we asked for explanation about the fact that no one had mentioned us such a high price and I showed the message that was not mentioned at least one payment, they took a joke of us saying that the message is automatically sent from the computer (when it is not clearly so). The service was very bad, the people working in the building are very short, the hotel room is bad, the air conditioner does not work, the shower has no water container and consequently all the bathroom is flooded and if one wants to do a little shower and The whole room washing your hair washed because the water goes out of the bathroom! all terrible, starting from the reception! extremely short.
