BG Tonga Tower

We had a fantastic time at Tonga Towers! Room was clean and spacious with welcome chocolate, robe and slippers. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful throughout our while stay. It has nice facilities, as it was still a little cold we used the indoor spa pool, sauna and steam room which were lovely though not very big. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice, though can get a little busy with coach parties but the staff worked so hard to make sure that food is constantly topped up. Amazing rooftop bar/terrace with view over the bays. Overall we had a excellent stay! Thak you Tonga Towers!

Just returned from this hotel after staying 5 nights with friends, can honestly say this was one of the friendliest hotels I’ve stayed in and I travel a lot! Our hotel room was clean and airy the bed extremely comfortable. The pool area is fairly small but clean with plenty of beds. We had bed and breakfast , the choice at breakfast was fantastic , very fresh with a huge choice of food. The location is excellent just a minute or so walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants shops etc. although Can Picafort isn’t for me and I won’t be returning, I have nothing but good things to say about EVERY member of staff we encountered, from check in staff, bar staff, breakfast area, cleaners were or seemed genuinely happy. We were always greeted and welcomed with smiling faces , nothing was too much trouble and they were also fun. I can’t name everyone but wish I could ! I did managed to get Madi’s name who worked in the bar area by the pool ( all were amazing ) she was a sweetheart. We would all highly recommend this hotel . Thank you to every member of staff you are all wonderful !

I visited this hotel with a long time friend for a week's break from the humdrum of working life in England. Pleased to say neither of us were disappointed. Beautiful hotel, great location, close to the beach and the local shops, loads of restaurants and able to get a bus to other parts of the island. Room was a twin pool facing room. Spacious, lovely view over the pool area and grounds, which were green and covered in palm trees and greenery. Loads of sunbeds, so no problem there regardless of the time you decided to go to the pool to relax. Buffet breakfast was amazing and plentiful, only negative was that they do not provide fresh orange juice or any fresh juice, just concentrated sweetness from a machine. I watered mine down with the water to make it a bit easier to drink. Evening entertainment was provided and was pretty good for a hotel, even though we only sampled on a couple of nights. We went to the rooftop bar, which was also really lovely and you got a great view over the town and the setting sun in the evenings. Hotel was clean, spacious, easy to navigate and the staff were lovely. All of the staff, reception, cleaning, mealtime etc were polite, friendly and made the stay enjoyable at all times. Unable to comment on the spa facilities as we did not use them. Negatives (possibly for some):- people have complained about the beds in other reviews. My friend found his bed too hard, however, for me it was fine so I think it is personal preference. I did find the one pillow too soft but there were additional pillows in the wardrobe so I used another one and it was much better. Air conditioning was absolutely fine for the time of year. We kept it on all night and it kept the room cool. Maybe in the height of summer, it would not be enough. Shower did tend to run cold, warm, hot on a rotational basis whilst you were in it, so you never knew whether you would be frozen, fine or scalded, but we managed, and it was not a major issue. The hotel does tend to cater more for the German visitors rather than any other nationality. This was more an issue when it came to the TV in the room as the English channels were not available, even though on the TV. It had minimal Spanish channels and mainly German. This may be something the hotel want to look at. We did not spend much time in the room, but when wanting to relax in the evening, it would have been nice to pop the TV on and see if there was a film or something to watch. Overall though, an amazing break, in a lovely hotel. Not sure we will be back, but this no reflection on the hotel, more that we like to travel to different places. If we did go back to Mallorca however, we would definitely consider the hotel as it is worth it!
Zafiro Alzinar Mar Adults Only

We have just returned from what was my and July husband’s first Jet2 holiday package - an all-inclusive 7-night stay for four adults at Zafiro Alzinar Mar in Mallorca. When I booked the holiday, I paid extra to have 2 Junior Suite rooms with a pool view but when we arrived we found that our pool view amounted to the most distant rooms with a minimum spot of blue through trees and no pool view at all. I messaged the Jet2 team and had a phone call two days later asking if we had been offered new rooms. We hadn’t and they then offered us to change rooms but, having been in the resort for two nights we didn’t want the upheaval. I was still disappointed having paid extra for those rooms and especially after I found the hotel to be two thirds empty so there were way more than enough of those rooms available in the first place. The Junior Suite rooms are lovely and spacious and the air con was much needed even in October - we were lucky enough to have temperatures ranging from 23 to 32 during our stay. I am so sorry to say that my displeasure did not end there. From the third day the all-inclusive buffet was discontinued over the lunch period and we were advised we had to order from the limited snack menu only for lunchtimes. This was particularly difficult for me as I am dairy intolerant and the options were very few. There was very little fruit (what was there was browning from the start of the week) and not much for me to choose from apart from nachos with no cheese. We paid for all inclusive which was sold to us as including a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. This brings me to the next problem. We were all extremely disappointed in general with the buffet offerings after the first couple of days. The fruit dwindled, the selection of options became very samey so that we knew almost exactly what would be on offer each day - and even if we went in at the very start of the buffet slot, meats and vegetables were largely lukewarm at best. All of the meals have been two star at most if I am being VERY generous. We were ‘sold’ show cooking and location-themed offerings and were given none to speak of. A chef cooked grey chicken or beef steaks and/or fish every day on a griddle??? I would expect more from a school canteen to be perfectly frank. We took to wandering down to the beach to eat at least a lunch from the many offerings but, considering we had paid all-inclusive, this seemed a step too far, financially. We saved hard for this holiday. Entertainment - when it was there - was good enough but with only three acts over seven nights and nothing in between, the remaining nights were lacklustre. The background music played on repeat and there was never any music by the pool despite the reviews stating that earlier in the season there had at the very least been music. We had taken a few travel games and we sat and drank our all inclusive cocktails and had a chat and a giggle but more entertainment would have been welcomed. The poolside en

Stayed here for 2 weeks, I will give you the good, the not so good and information. The good. Hotel is spotlessly clean, well laid out. Rooms cleaned every day, brilliant housekeeping staff. The pools are great and a short hop to the beautiful beach if that is your thing. The bad. Waiting staff in the bar area are dreadful, truly awful if you are English. This hotel is predominantly German which is fine, but don't expect to be treated the same as the German holiday makers, you won't be. They literally ignore you and pretend not to see you and just walk past, such a shame as the hotel is lovely. The place has no atmosphere. The evening entertainment is poor, but if you are just wanting somewhere quite where you will be ignored then it will be fine. Information: rooms are fine, yes a little dated but very comfortable with fridge, safe and balcony. The hotel is at the end of can picafort but it's a lovely stroll into the main area and takes no time at all. There is a stop for the Wally trolley right outside the hotel.
