Gavimar la Mirada Hotel and Apartments

Cala d'Or|0.2km from Cala d’Es Pou
second stay at the Gavimar la Mirada in the space of a year and had hoped to be returning this summer, sadly now not looking likely. Good points - the incredible hard working cleaning and serving staff, the infectious enthusiasm of my favourite bartender Eddie and the great variety of food available. The negatives that have really let me down this year are the following, on night following our arrival , trying to catch up on sleep lost on the outward journey the night before, we were constantly annoyed by a bunch of feral brats running the halls and knocking doors and windows, this was bad enough but a lack of response to this - which went on for over two hours is not acceptable, even after two calls to reception about this, Secondly - my son has autism and loves nothing more than having a dip in the pool with his inflatable doughnut. No issues with this all last summer and no issues on first day - not a thing was said about it. I know the hotel has a policy saying no inflatables in the pool but last year the same policy was in place but was never enforced - seen dozens of kids in pool with inflatables. on second day of our stay my son got shouted at by pool attendant and forced to leave the pool and he could not understand this - i found he had taken himself up to our room and sat on the bed crying and distressed as he had been shouted at. Now im fully onboard with a no inflatables rule if it is constantly enforced but having the rules ignored one day then strictly enforced the next was a bit much and i guarantee in summer there will be plenty of kids in the pools with inflatables. the worst thing about this is that no-one was even using the pool apart from him, everyone else was lying out on loungers . Surely management should consider revising this policy for a more common sense approach such as only allowing them when pool not deemed busy and advising kids that they can use them if pool isnt busy but may have to take them out if deemed that pool occupancy increases - just a thought. So sadly and with a genuinely heavy heart i feel that we are not likely to be back. I feel that some staff could do with a course in sensitivity in dealing with those with additional needs also as i met a few families with kids with Autism there as the same time as us. I wish nothing but the best for all the staff of the Gavimar La Mirada going forward and hope future guests have a wonderful holiday. Thank You

Just got back from a 4 night stay with my two children age 9 and 5, we arrived around 2 pm had we were quickly checked in and was put in a 1 bedroom apar**ent which was fine very clean and spacious looking over the splash pool only thing about the room I didn't like was the lack of privacy for the toilet but everything else fine , the restaurant, snack bar and bars are all excellent food does get a little repetitive but you can always find something to eat all day long so you won't go hungry , all the staff were brilliant and nothing too much trouble my children loved the entertainment at night and kids club and the games room also the splash pools even though it was still a little cold. The location is brilliant right next too the beach which is beautiful also plenty shops restaurants and bars, don't be put off by the negative reviews some people just like to moan I paid 600 for 4 nights all inclusive and was made up and would definitely return .

Just checked out and I am waiting on the transfers, so it's a perfect time to write a review. The room and facilities were exactly what we would expect for a solid 4* hotel and comfortable and clean. The hotel staff are friendly, always smiling, and work hard, making our stay very pleasant. We went all-inclusive, and the food was varied and plentiful, and a good drink selection at the bar. Well maintained hotel grounds, lovely flowers, 3 clean outdoor pools, and no shortage of sunbeds. Evening entertainment was varied, largely lip sync and dancing but done with passion from a talented entertainment team. Particularly liked Musical Showtime (Chicago, Greatest Showman and Dream Girls). The location is great, a little wander, and you find a lovely marina). A few constructive suggestions I hope they consider which would enhance guest experience would be sunbeds on the room balcony and try to keep one of the pools as a quiet/relax pool for adults and couples as excited children's noise did rather dominate all 3 outdoor pools making some days trickier to relax and unwind. For this reason I would say the hotel is more oriented to family's than couples but we got such a great deal that I do think the holiday was tremendous value for money and well deserves 5* and would certainly come back for a sunny break.

Last min solo traveler, I wanted to enjoy last European warm days, 1st time in Mallorca, didn’t research well what to do where to go, so I wanted to relax in Cal D’or, this hotel is perfect! 50 mtrs from the bus stop, and like 3 blocks from a great small Cala, 100 mts from a main street w shops restaurants bars etc, the room is spotless, hairdryer, a balcony if you want to smoke, a pool (i never use pools but for the ones who do) the price is unbelievable and the basic breakfast buffett is great, I wd recommend this to all my friends And I loved the lemon tree close to my balcony!

It was lovely here and we didn’t know until last couple days there quiet a few shops and bars and restaurants next to the hotel walk up that slope by the main pool and you’re there , we done my favourite club unsure on extra cost but we paid a little more for a room upgrade and had lovely breakfast served to us which was a dream did have to que for own teas coffees etc there’s a lot more with my favourite club , there was not much on offer for gluten free even with the omelette they served bread, I rated 4 stars as the doors bang up until 11pm after entertainment etc quietens down after that and the hotel needed more staff the lounge area bar the bar was always so dirty in the evening when just got ready for a night out , amazing bar staff and the entertainer Alisia was one of the best I have met lovely Italian lady if you meet her. Will visit again and potentially stay on top floor maybe more quiet. Entertainment at night is just singers but it was still good from What I watched of it super loud so don’t expect to sleep before 10.30pm. Great little place and amazing beach. Firm bed and small shower room all open and no privacy.
Sentido Fido Tucan - Beach Hotel

Stepping in through the entrance I thought I had entered a spa ,tranquil , contemporary reception which smelt amazing .reception efficiently processed the necessary paperwork whilst we sipped a welcoming drink ,phew just breathe. No need to pay extra for towels or use of safe this is included. The Tucan is ideally situated a few steps from shops and beautiful beach Cala gran . We stayed in a third floor room with a side sea view. A bottle of water was in the small fridge which we used to keep our own drinks in . Tv had good reception with English channels wi fi was reliable . The bed was large and comfortable and I slept really well .air con seemed to work really well although in October not as hot as summer months. Bathroom waterfall shower was really lovely ,hairdryer was powerful and quick to dry my hair.room kept spotless by the team of maids that worked tirelessly to keep everywhere gleaming. Food was delicious ,breakfast amazing variety of hot and cold food.lunch at the snack bar was restaurant quality absolutely spot on. Dinner was varied and a different theme available each night , a huge choice and the desserts were absolutely delicious , best I have had at an a.I. Hotel. The pool area is clean and has multiple sun bed s, Bali beds never overcrowded a nice atmosphere with the animator friendly and inclusive but not over zealous.the small gym and spa were clean and the jacuzzi relaxing. Evening entertainment was easy going usually a vocalist and it everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, helped no doubt by the unwavering efforts of the bar staff who worked tirelessly to ensure everyone’s glass was never empty for more than a moment .remembering what you you like to drink and delivered with a smile despite being so busy. All the staff at the hotel are so engaging and helpful and make you feel so welcome they are what makes the Tucan fly above other hotels I have stayed at .if you stay you will want to return again and again ……
