Travelers House

Great old building right in the heart of Cairo. The hostel is clean, and the staff are super friendly and chatty.

I was only staying for a few hours because I was leaving for Japan on an evening flight that day. I took a short rest and shower. I was able to relax. The cat in the lobby was adorable.

The room itself felt new, but the hallway, elevator area, and stairs were dirty and full of trash. There were absolutely no towels, shampoo, tissues, or other amenities in the room... The white walls made it look somewhat clean, but... Was it under construction? I stayed for four nights, and they were doing construction until around 12:00 PM. It was really just constant construction. Also, even though breakfast was included, there was no communication about it, and... I can't deny that they were a bit cold. The location was convenient, being in the city center.

The shower had hot water and air conditioning, making it very comfortable for a cheap dormitory. The beds were single, not bunk, and were well-selected and free of bugs. There was also a drinks stand right in front of the hotel. Needless to say, the elevator was the best part.

The bath was inconvenient as it didn't have water. I guess Arabs don't take baths. There was no hair dryer either. As expected of a two-star hotel, it was clean and there were cats in the lobby which was fun.

I arrived at the hotel and the receptionist was extremely indifferent, which forced us to leave the hotel and leave the place. We did not stay

We originally planned to stay in a triple room, but they told us they didn't have that room type, so we were given a twin room with one large bed and one small bed. The bathroom was very run-down, with the light not working and the shower head broken. Fortunately, it was only a one-night stay. The waiter was nice and helpful, though.
