This hotel is very good. We are a family of three adults and one child. The room is very large, with a double bed (1.5 meters wide) and two single beds, separate bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishes, cutlery and forks. Spoons and toasters are very convenient. The hotel has no breakfast and no extra bed. It is suitable for a family. It can be said to be very good at this price. The hotel also has free parking spaces, free Wi-Fi, and a small swimming pool. The hotel is 1.2 kilometers away from the bustling beach area. You can eat and drink when you stroll. The location of the hotel is within the range of free pick-up and drop-off for day trips, which is very convenient.

The location is dead centre cairns city, the 4 bed dorm is good for a group. The kitchen on level 4 is lovely, although some other quests do not clean up after themselves. The pool is lovely & you can get discounts on food and drink in the bar. The the aircon in the room cannot be controlled, we had to sleep in hoodies because it was so cold in the room. There is then NO aircon in the communal areas, making it incredibly uncomfortable to cook or relax. There is not clothes horse for drying clothes. The music that plays every night until 3am can we heard in every room in the hostel! One of the bar waitresses was very rude, pass-remarkable, made personal comments (weight/clothing) and poorly mannered in general.

I had an overall good experience at this hostel but the rooms were uncomfortably warm & damp. Not sure if that reflects an issue with the ventilation/air conditioning on 1st floor or it's just the reality of living in the tropics in general, but it greatly affected the quality of my sleep. At the very least, it would be helpful to prohibit the use of strongly scented perfumes in the dorm rooms and/or allow the dorm doors to remain open during the day to make the air more breathable. The pricing was very reasonable for everything that was included & the central location. I was impressed at how clean & available the bathrooms were. I also thought the staff & night manager were nice & helpful. Would highly recommend if you can tolerate the humidity.

The photos provided by the operators are extremely deceptive. The accomodation is old and run down. The shower tiles were painted at some stage, and it is now peeling off both the floor and the walls. The “updated” vanity basin and tap are poorly sizes and you are unable to fully wash your face due to the shape and size of the basin with a shorter necked faucet . There is no complete enclosure for water in the shower resulting in you flooding the bathroom each time you shower- we ended up using the common showers in the passageway to attempt keep our room dry. The toilet paper is only single ply so bring your own if you decide to stay here !! Our towels and sheets had stains on them and the pillows are flat and lumpy. I wouldn’t swim in the pool unless you’ve had your latest tetanus shots. We were followed back to the accommodation by a slightly hostile homeless person one night which was slightly unnerving for our teenage daughters. The nicest part of this accommodation is the outdoor BBQ area. The breakfast provided smelt ok, but we decided to eat at the cafe at the marina each day as we were heading out to the reef and islands anyways. We decided to stay here and save money as generally we are out during the day and only need a comfortable bed and a clean shower- next time we will be going back to our regular accommodation closer to the Esplanade. I booked this room because I wanted my own space, bathroom and kitchenette close to the city. This was exactly what I wanted, about 10-15 min walk from most places in Cairns, aircon, quiet and enough space to chill in. It's definitely on the higher end of price - I paid ~$155 / night, but it was worth it in my opinion.

Not at all like the pictures on the net. Aptmt lacking basic kitchen utensils like oven, microwave/serving bowls, cutting implements etc. No A/C in living area. Only the rooms had old style A/C & fans which hadn’t been cleaned. 1x 2 seater couch for 6. No double bed w/bunk. Just 4 bunk beds. Backpacker’s dream over the main flight path to Cairns Airport. Not for adults on holidays. Won’t be staying here again. Pool & spa was a good bonus, although warm water. Unfortunately, we will not be staying here again.
