Wonderful hospitality here, very accommodating and delicious breakfast. I would try the tree house next time!

Booked a room on December 1st. Received a confirmation and confirmed the booking directly with the lodge. Today we received a message letting us know “your room is no longer available” and that they would be cancelling. Say what? You just give away a room that’s been confirmed for months. Leaving us 5 weeks out from our trip with no room. Don’t stay here if you actually want to get a room. This lodge could care less that customers are left scrambling for last minute reservations.

La chambre dans les arbres est très originale et dépaysante. Véritable petit coin de paradis. Les cris des singes au lever du soleil sont très dépaysants et exotiques. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et serviables. Toutefois le confort est un petit peu minimal: impossible de régler la température de la douche, certaines fenêtres n’ont qu’une moustiquaire donc en cas de température un peu fraîche, on risque d’avoir un peu froid.

Le nom ne correspond pas à la situation car même si la plage est de l’autre côté du chemin, vous ne pouvez pas y accéder. En effet, les propriétés en bord de mer sont collées les unes aux autres et ne permettent pas d’accéder à la plage, il vous faudra marcher un bon quart d’heure avant d’arriver à playa negra et une demi-heure de marche pour aller jusqu’à Cahuita où se trouve le parc. Le bungalow est basique sans clim avec un petit ventilo, la cuisine est un plutôt sympa, literie, douche avec eau chaude corrects mais tout reste très basique. Les hôtes sont très sympas et très dévoués.
