やまだ山田**Location:**
It's very close to Gion Station, and about a 5–7 min walk to Kushida Shrine Station and a local supermarket. Canal City Hakata is roughly 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, the location is quite convenient.
**Service & Amenities:**
Special praise for the reception staff—they were proactive, polite, spoke fluent English, and explained everything clearly. The hotel also provides free amenities, including Sekkisei skincare products and bath salts, which was a lovely touch!
**Room & Cleanliness:**
The room is spacious enough to fully open 2 to 3 suitcases. I especially loved the large, clean bathroom with its separate wet and dry areas. Housekeeping did a great job—just make sure to put your request magnet/card on the door before 10 AM.
**Breakfast:**
The food was decent, featuring salads, bread, omelets, sukiyaki, seafood bowls, French toast, and even free-flow wine. Some items require ordering directly from the chef, which caused a bit of a rush due to the crowds, but the staff tried their best to help. Food refills took a little time, so some patience is needed.

Posted on Aug 5, 2026|Semi-Private Cabin - Men Only, Non Smoking
XS YangStay
I booked a semi‑private cabin (men only, non‑smoking) for three nights, averaging about S$28 per night. The cabin was compact yet cozy, offering more privacy than a capsule. The bed was clean and comfortable, with fresh linens provided daily. A secure locker was available for small luggage, while larger bags could be stored at the front desk. Guests were considerate, and the noise level was low enough for restful sleep. I especially liked the ventilation hole near the bed, which blew cool air directly across — it kept the cabin fresh and ensured I never felt hot while sleeping.
Food
The hotel itself does not serve meals, but there is an optional breakfast plan with St. Marc Café nearby. Otherwise, Tenjin’s dining scene is right outside — ramen shops, izakayas, and cafés are all within walking distance, making food choices easy and varied.
Amenities
Facilities are practical and well‑maintained. Showers were clean, with steady hot water and complimentary toiletries. Towels and indoor wear were provided, while toothbrushes, razors, slippers, and extra towels were available at a small fee. Wi‑Fi was reliable throughout the property. The shared lounge had desks, outlets, vending machines, a microwave, and even a manga library. Coin laundry machines were available, making longer stays convenient. Staff were polite and efficient.
Atmosphere
The semi‑private cabin design gave a homely feel compared to standard capsules. The interiors were tidy and modern, with thoughtful touches like privacy curtains, individual controls, and the cooling airflow from the ventilation system. Common areas were clean and functional, with a relaxed vibe in the lounge.
Location
Situated in central Tenjin, the property is right in Fukuoka’s shopping and entertainment hub. Transport connections are excellent: Tenjin South Station is just 2 minutes’ walk, Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station 4 minutes, Hakata Station 15 minutes by train, and Fukuoka Airport about 22 minutes. Shops, restaurants, and nightlife are all steps away.
Overall
Wellcabin Tenjin is affordable, clean, and practical for solo male travellers. The semi‑private cabins provide more comfort and privacy than capsules, with tidy facilities, reliable amenities, and even laundry options for convenience. Downsides are the men‑only restriction and the fact that some items like toothbrushes, slippers, and extra towels are not free. Overall, it’s a strong choice for budget‑minded travellers who want privacy, convenience, and a cool, comfortable sleep in the heart of Fukuoka.

Anonymous UserKeep left on East exit of JR station. Sandwich between 2 taller H-green, lookout for hotel’s blue signage when building is less obvious. Staff is approachable, room smallish yet functional. No external view but has daily cleaning ++
Ramen street is 3mins away, can easily return to rest between shopping and avoid crowds in constantly busy Hakata station.

Guest UserThis was my first time traveling abroad with my child, and after a lot of comparison, I chose this hotel. On the day of check-in, we took a taxi from Fukuoka Airport to the hotel, which was about a 15-20 minute drive and cost around 80+ RMB.
The hotel is very quiet with good soundproofing, and complimentary drinks are available. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Hakata Station. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service in the mornings, running every 30 minutes, which was very convenient for our travel needs. Tenjin shopping district is approximately 1.8 kilometers away, a pleasant 20-minute walk.
The hotel is located at a crossroads, with a 7-Eleven convenience store downstairs. Diagonally opposite is a duty-free supermarket, making it convenient for purchasing daily necessities or cosmetics. There's also a branch of the 'Dajin' barbecue chain downstairs; we ate there two days in a row. The food was decent and incredibly good value for money, haha!

Review: Excellent Convenience and Warm Service in Tenjin
I recently completed a 6-night stay at the Hakata Green Hotel Tenjin, and it served as the perfect base for exploring Fukuoka.
Check-in & Service
The arrival process was incredibly efficient. While I had to pay the local accommodation tax upon arrival, the staff made the process quick and seamless. Throughout my week there, I was consistently impressed by the hospitality; the staff are exceptionally polite and greet you every time you pass through the lobby. Checkout was just as smooth as the arrival.
Location & Accessibility
The location is arguably the hotel’s strongest feature:
• Transit: It is just a short walk to Akasaka Station, making it easy to get around the city.
• Convenience: There is a 7-Eleven right in front of the hotel, which is perfect for grabbing quick essentials.
• Shopping & Dining: You are within easy walking distance of the main Tenjin shopping district. Even late at night, there are plenty of great restaurants open nearby.
Dining & Breakfast
My stay included a free light buffet breakfast every morning. It is a convenient way to start the day, though I did notice the selection was the same every day. It would be a great improvement if they could add a little more variety to the menu for guests staying multiple nights.
Final Verdict
Between the friendly atmosphere and the unbeatable proximity to both transport and nightlife, I had a very pleasant stay. I would definitely choose this hotel again for its convenience and reliable service.

Location of this hotel is excellent! Extremely easy to find - exit from the Chikushi Gate (East) at JR Hakata station and walk about 5 mins to reach the hotel. There is also a bus stop just 100 meters away (1 min walk) that you can take from the airport to reach the hotel, or from the hotel to reach the airport.
Room is clean and decent size. Love the bathroom and the standing shower which has a nice rain shower, handheld shower and jacuzzi style massage shower. There’s also a bathtub for those who like to take baths. Room amenities can be obtained at hotel lobby so there is little waste - just take what you need.
There is also a coffee machine that is free at the lobby. There is a self-service washing machine and dryer at level 3, level 7 and level 11. There is also a Family Mart just infront of the hotel and also a Lawson just around the corner. Great for getting late night light snacks. Overall, an excellent hotel! Highly recommended!

Anonymous UserThis place is perfect for solo travelers on a budget who don't want to stay in a hostel. The cleanliness is quite good; they offer daily housekeeping (and if you decline, they'll leave fresh supplies outside your door for you to change yourself). It's very close to Hakata Bus Terminal and the JR station, about a 10-minute walk. I wouldn't say it's remote at all, just not in a major commercial district (it's more of a residential area). However, getting to Tenjin and Nakasu takes a bit longer, about a 20-minute drive. The room itself is genuinely tiny, but it's well-equipped with everything you need. Be careful in the bathroom as it's easy to trip. Overall, it offers excellent value for money!

NingmengyouzhiThe restaurant offers different items at different times. There's a self-service onigiri machine where you press a button and a rice ball comes out, and you can add toppings like mentaiko salmon and seaweed yourself. Milk is also available, along with a beverage machine. There are two types of bread. They also have ice cream, but the seating is a bit small, so if you come late, you might have to stand. Plus, there are three types of cookies and self-serve shaved ice. There's also a shuttle bus to Itoshima, which is very convenient.

Jesse ArmandWalkable from Hakata Station, they have a good small restaurant and cafe on the first floor.
Hotel and room design is a bit classic.
Plus: There is a microwave provided inside the room, although as a result, the desk become a bit too crowded.
Overall, up to good standard and affordable for its location.
