Causeway Tavern Bed & Breakfast

As a traveller on foot it was little far from amenities (shops, cafes) as food is not served in the (cosy, very friendly) bar. However, a hearty breakfast is provided. Despite needing to leave before the allotted breakfast time the kitchen opened ahead of time to accommodate my early start - and I was treated to a real feast. Thank you, I was very grateful!!

Absolutely lovely place with great charm. A lovely bar area with a welcoming fire (We were there in December) The Causeway Tavern is Ideally situated for exploring the area. The rooms we booked were comfortable & clean . The Hosts, Michaela & Mark made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast is chosen on arrival and the choices are good. We enjoyed our stay.

It was a bank holiday weekend and there was a fair near by so for the price we paid the accomodation was reasonable. We asked for a double and ended with a twin. The rooms are small (by Australian standards anyway) but very clean. We did a small rearrangement to fit our two large suitcases. It left is with a small walk way to get around the beds. The downside of this place was the push button taps that gave you a few seconds to wash your hands (think public bathrooms style) and it was a very hot and stuffy room even with the window open. The highlights were the entertaining hosts, offering to share their fish and chips and fresh fruit, the unexpected find of our favourite whiskey behind the bar and how hard this family work together to accommodate tourists. We wished we could give a higher score but there is some improvement needed which I’m sure the hosts are aware of and tried to make up for with their wit and banter!

The Causeway Tavern occupies a fantastic location for all the main sights. The owner is lovely, very engaging, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very nice, good shower, very comfortable bed. The breakfast is great, plenty of choice, generous portions and nicely presented. The bar is nice, good range of drinks and very fairly priced. There is plenty of free parking available.

2 Night stay for the Open in Portrush We stayed here during the Open in Portrush. The Bedrooms were very comfortable and well equipped. The Breakfast was excellent. The Hosts were really helpful and accommodating. Very close to Giants Causeway and other famous landmarks.

Close to the causeway. Met other travelers in the bar and enjoyed our night there. We would stay again.

This is the best place that we stayed at in Ireland. So quaint. Mark, Michaela and son were all very pleasant and added fun to our stay there. I will make sure that I stay there when I go back. Oh and shout out to the resident kitty cats, they were so sweet.
