Location
The hotel’s location is undoubtedly its main advantage. Most of the city’s main attractions are within walking distance, making it convenient for sightseeing.
Unfortunately, almost everything else about this stay was disappointing.
Overall Experience
The room itself was not dirty, but the entire experience was overshadowed by poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and an apparent disregard for guest satisfaction.
Service
The main issue involved the hotel’s laundry service.
A disagreement arose regarding a ten-dollar charge. Instead of verifying the facts and handling the matter professionally, a young employee repeatedly implied that I was being dishonest while I was simply explaining my understanding of the situation. Being treated this way as a paying guest is completely unacceptable.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that I specifically asked him to call his colleague and verify the details if there was any doubt. Rather than checking the facts first, he chose to challenge the guest. No customer should have to defend their honesty because hotel staff fail to communicate properly with one another.
The situation became even worse when I discovered that several of my T-shirts had been permanently damaged by the laundry service. Despite this, no meaningful apology, compensation, or satisfactory solution was offered. The discussion remained focused on ten dollars while the hotel ignored the fact that they had ruined personal property belonging to a guest.
What I found most surprising was the complete lack of perspective shown by management and staff. We had booked two rooms for four nights. Any well-managed hotel would understand the importance of maintaining a good relationship with its guests and resolving a minor issue professionally. Instead, they chose to argue over ten dollars and defend what was clearly a communication failure. The amount itself was insignificant. What mattered was professionalism, accountability, and respect.
To make matters worse, staff knocked on my door at approximately 7:00 a.m. simply to return the laundry. Waking guests early in the morning for something entirely non-urgent demonstrates a remarkable lack of consideration and common sense.
Room
Despite requesting a king-size bed, we were given two single mattresses pushed together. This is not a king-size bed and it was noticeably less comfortable.
The bedding itself felt cheap and of poor quality. A thin, basic sheet was used, which further reduced the overall level of comfort. If proper king-size beds are unavailable, this should be clearly stated during the booking process rather than giving guests the impression that such rooms exist.
Bathroom
The bathroom was poorly designed and inconvenient to use.
The shower drainage does not function properly. Water quickly accumulates, overflows, and spreads across the bathroom floor. This happened repeatedly throughout our stay and made using the bathroom unnecessarily unpleasant.
Breakfast
Breakfast was mediocre and offered very little in terms of quality or variety. It felt more like a basic obligation than a service intended to enhance the guest experience.
Final Verdict
I can overlook a simple room. I can overlook modest facilities. I can even overlook minor inconveniences.
What I cannot overlook is being treated disrespectfully, being forced to defend my honesty, having personal belongings damaged, and then watching the hotel refuse to take responsibility for its own mistakes.
The location is good, but a good location alone cannot compensate for poor customer service and a lack of professionalism.
The handling of the laundry incident completely overshadowed any positive aspect of this stay. Because of this experience, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who expects professionalism, accountability, and basic respect as a paying guest.
