Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge

The only negative thing I can say about this place is the drive to get there. The road is barely a road in many places. However...even that wasn't a bad experience because we got to see so much of the Ugandan countryside, and people as we went. I felt a bit like royalty because everyone waves - especially the children. The staff are fabulous! We were greeted by Maggie who explained what we needed to know about the lodge and our stay. We got warm towels, and even hand massages! Maggie also checked in with us periodically during our 2 day stay and she was just very real and friendly. All the staff were. Our butler, George was amazing - always smiling and anticipating what we wanted or needed before we even knew. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of our housekeeper - but he was great too! The view from our cabin was spectacular, as was the view from the main lodge. The bed was very comfy and cozy - with a hot water bottle provided for warmth as it does get cool at night up on that mountain. I loved the open shower concept, although being so high up on a mountain the shower temperature liked to play tricks a bit. The lodge and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious and much more extravagent that I expected. We were fully immersed in the native cultural experience with visits from the Bwindi Pigmy tribe - which was extraordinary. Loved everything about this place!

This was by far the highlight of all the lodges we visited in Uganda. The staff was so amazing. I have never felt more spoiled in my life. They literally went above and beyond what we could have imagined service wise. Wesley especially was great. The room were lovely. My only complaint would be our room backed onto the road so it was very noisy at night time. The food was always delicious. It is very close to the gorilla trekking and the hotel offers some great activies. The lodge itself and its views were beautiful. It does take a while to get there but worth the trek.

Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge is absolutely stunning. The facilities, the lodge, the views. I have been blown away by all of it - the welcome hand massage, the service, the aesthetic, the views, the location, the food, the spa - all of it! This is my first trip to Uganda and I’ve fallen in love.

From our arrival to departure, the staff at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge showed us how welcoming,professional and friendly they are,the service we got was impeccable,we stayed in a garden deluxe cottage,the view was absolutely amazing,our butler Friday,was so attentive,friendly and professional,if you would like abit of luxury while in Bwindi,this lodge has more than enough to offer with amazing views,i want to thank Dinah,Friday,Diane and Sarah and all the other staff,sorry can't remember all your names,for making our stay so memorable, also our guide,Vincent, who was so knowledgeable about all the birds and wildlife we were seeing or hearing

This is possibly the best place my wife and I have ever stayed, between the stunning views, private and gorgeous cottages, incredible service, and most of all the friendly, loving staff. Every single person who works there is full of positive energy and truly did everything to make us feel like a king and queen. Friday and Amos took especially good care of us, but everyone was amazing. Thank you so much to all of the great people at Nkuringo…we really appreciate you!

Totally unexpected luxury from the minute we arrived. The location is beautiful, the premises are gorgeous. Arrived to fresh hot towels, cold drinks and a hand massage from Rosemary, who would be our housekeeper for our stay. The Lodge is five star all the way - rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. Staff friendly and work incredibly hard to make your stay with them perfect. Food was great and abundant! Rosemary was there for anything that we needed - dirty laundry, and shoes, magically disappeared from the minute they were set down to reappear later clean and ready to go. Bedtime found a fire burning, hot water bottles in the bed and a sweet note from her. Morning wake up call was Rosemary at our door singing to us with hot tea and cookies. She was always there for anything we needed or wanted, I cannot say enough about the amazing service. This lodge is a gem and if you read its history you will even be more impressed by all that they are doing.

Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge is an exceptional place to stay. The location is beautiful with views over the mountains in Uganda, Rwanda and The Congo. Our room was perfect with a charcoal fire in the evenings and hot water bottles in the bed. The food in the restaurant was delicious and catered very well for gluten intolerance. The service throughout the lodge was fantastic especially from our personal butler, Edward who did everything possible to make this an extra special stay. We particularly appreciated the wake up call with a cup of tea early in the morning and the boot cleaning service.

The lodge is stunning and it is worth it itself the trip. But what made the stay unforgettable was the amazing staff, starting from the welcome hand massage to the perfect service at the restaurant by Friday (with wine included) and the impeccable room keeping by Diana. I did the gorilla safari track (strongly recommended, you get really close to wild gorilla) and a trek in the impenetrable forest. The driver Elias and the guide Vincent took care of me in everything I needed, always smiling. Worth every penny!

This lodge is very special. We had the most wonderful stay here. We were looked after by Friday who was most fabulous host. The views are breathtaking, the food is delicious and all the small touches (hot water bottles in your bed, boots cleaned, fire lit in your rooms when you return from dinner, tea with your wake up call) make this lodge unforgettable. I wish we could have stayed longer.
