Danubius Hotel Helia

A solid performance from a good 'all round' experience. The hotel hasa great location overlooking the Danube. Well placed for nice walks, boat trips and restaurants alike. The hotel serves a thoroughly decent buffet breakfast in pleasant surroundings. The lobby and bar areas are very slick, contemporary styled and show a high degree of imagination. There is a physio /medical facility too. Seems to be very popular - offering a range of treatments. The spa pools are decent and the gym well equipped and a nice atmosphere. Great hotel, excellent stay and would welcome the opportunity to stay there again.

It's a bit far from the city center, but easily accessible by public transport! The facilities were also clean and spacious. Especially the shower room was spacious. There is a Tesco Mart nearby, so you can easily buy drinks and snacks!!
Fortuna Boat Hotel Budapest

I think it is hard to find a place at this price point in Budapest where you don’t need to share a bathroom that checks all the important marks - it was clean, quiet, had helpful staff, and is in a safe and vibrant neighborhood. Plus it’s cool to say you slept on the Danube river. The only negative was that it is a little outside the tourist areas and is about a half mile from a public transportation station that goes to the main part of town. So adds a little bit of extra walking to your already tired legs. Still though - very happy with this choice.
Ensana Thermal Margaret Island

We took a one-week spa package. The treatments were good. The food (morning and evening) was delicious. There are 3 thermal pools (1 with a jacuzzi) and a large pool with regular water and a sauna. The room had cloth robes and slippers for the pool. I am attaching photos of an area near the hotel (Margaret Park). ROOMS We were in room 731, on the 7th floor. The view is from a balcony towards the river. A large room, with lots of storage space, electric kettle, coffee and tea, refrigerator, large safe, hair dryer, large shower. There was a clothes dryer in the shower and air conditioner in the room. Tickets for public transport could be bought at the hotel. A single ticket cost 350 forints, a ticket for 10 trips 3000 forints. If you plan a trip with one transfer (2 lines), you can purchase a discounted TRANSFER CARD for 530 HUF, but not at the hotel. In my opinion, the difference of 70 forints (that's about NIS 0.7) is not worth the trouble of looking for a place to sell such tickets. A ticket for 10 trips is individual tickets, so you can use them for several people. There is a bus stop number 26 near the hotel. There is a locked room for luggage storage.
Westend Hostel

Agreed on previous reviews, the place has a feeling not a hostel for international travellers but for local long stayers, working class people. Stay here on your own risk, it's often fully booked due to an extremely low price but as a downside you'll get a bunch of loud ladies cooking their evening meals and socialising well into the night. A fully equipped kitchen is one a few bright spots though. There are lockers but they can't be locked unless you bring your own small padlock. Overall they are nice people but just not the type one expects in such a place.

I was nervous that a customer had a booking accident in the review, but it was great. Great view and guests and staff to rest for a while for a day, and the facilities were good for the price. It was great to walk around especially in the middle of the park. It was a pity that there was no convenience store, but I was able to buy a little snack at the reception. Highly recommended.
