Ensana Thermal Margaret Island

Pros: -on a nice and quiet island -staff is helpful -my room had a nice view of the Danube river and a balcony for breakfast -robes, slippers, vanity kit were included in the room (but no toothpaste unlike what is advertised on trip.com) -thermal water spa is nice during off peak times and when less busy Cons: -bathroom not that clean (see photo of bug) -the quality of food at breakfast is lacking. Also, not a lot of variety. -the spa is open to the public as well as hotel guests and people did not have spa etiquette (especially the young children whose parents did not seem to teach them any, as the children were splashing around and throwing themselves off the railings). No staff around to tell them otherwise. It was definitely not relaxing or rejuvenating as a “spa and wellness hotel” should be. -people taking photos of other people in the spa area. There were no “no photo” signage in the spa area or going to the spa area to deter people from doing this. -far from most tourist attraction (approx 45mins-1hr walk, 25-30min by bus (cash only, bring exact change as driver doesn’t have any) which was ok for me as I wanted somewhere quiet. Overall, I chose this hotel to relax and rejuvenate in the thermal water spa but would not come here again for the above reasons. The spa area is more like a public bath facility than a “wellness” area. Cleaniness and quality of food also seems to be an issue.

The hotel provides water dispensers with fresh drinking water available daily, which is very convenient and contributes positively to overall comfort. In addition, fresh juices are offered, providing a pleasant and refreshing option throughout the day. It is also worth highlighting that there is a selection of desserts available without added sugar, which is a thoughtful and health-conscious offering. Furthermore, the bus stop is very easily accessible on foot and offers quick and convenient connections to the city center, making it simple to explore the area without the need for a car.

Thank you for a perfect stay. Quiet place with a picturesque view, thermal pools, not far from historical city center. I will recommend this hotel for a nice vacation in Budapest.

For the price I paid, I expected better. The facilities felt standard and the island itself offered nothing special for me. The facial was just okay, though I did have good experiences with the massage and mud wrap services. Breakfast looked fantastic, but unfortunately the taste didn’t live up to the presentation. During my trip, I stayed at four different hotels across Budapest. This was the most expensive, yet it’s the one I would rate the lowest.

It was a great place for individual travelers to enjoy some calm and relaxing moments.
