Folkestone Inn

This is the best place to stay in the entire region! The property (be aware it is a farmhouse with chickens and the neighboring property has cows) is beautifully situated and is very peaceful. The breakfast each morning may be the best I have ever had at any B&B and served in an intimate dining room that is light and airy. Our linens rivaled the best 5 star hotels, from the bedding to the towels. Our room (The Farmhouse) was very spacious and had a nice small siting area where we comfortably could sit each morning and enjoy coffee with a view to the outside grounds. An inviting place to return each day after adventuring in the area. Only 1/4 mile form a hidden National Park gem is Deep Creek, with various trails and waterfalls to enjoy. We had reasonable cell reception on Verizon but the WiFi was bit sketchy at times. No worries, we did not go here to spend our time connected and worrying about the world bu to get some peaceful recharging of our batteries. Do yourself a favor and book a room, Toni and Scott were fantastic hosts. We will be going back in the future.

Our recent stay at the Folkestone Inn was my second visit. The home seems to be well maintained and furnishings are nice. It is located about 5 minutes (by car) from the center of Bryson City. The breakfasts have always been outstanding and they seem to be different every day. Although we enjoyed our stay there are two issues that guests should be aware of. The rooms are mostly fairly small so there is relatively little open floor space in most of the rooms. Our room did have a chair, but it was more comfortable to use the living room when I was reading. The home is not easily accessible for guests who have problems with gait or balance. The walkway leading to the house has flagstones that are slightly uneven and the steps leading to the porch are somewhat unevenly spaced, a problem that is not unusual for older homes. The bathrooms that I have seen have free-standing bathtubs enclosed by a wrap-around shower curtain. Guests who have difficulties with balance may struggle to use the showers since there is no grab-bar. Our room did have a step-stool that could be used to facilitate stepping into the bathtub.

We enjoyed another wonderful stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast! The breakfast is amazing! It is a great location to enjoy all the things the area has to offer. The owners, Toni and Scott, are wonderful hosts and have made this a welcome spot for a relaxing getaway.

I can’t say enough about the Folkestone Inn. From the minute we arrived we felt welcome. Toni and Scott were amazing and the Inn was so cozy! They had everything you could need to feel at home. We stayed in the Farmhouse suite and it was decorated so wonderfully. The bed was comfy and the fireplace was great! Let’s talk breakfast! What a delicious delight! Scott is a fabulous chef and the food was amazing! We wish we didn’t have to leave. We will definitely be back. Can’t wait till they put out their cookbook!! Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed our New Year's Eve weekend in the mountains at our FAVORITE bed & breakfast, The Folkestone Inn. It is the ideal base camp for hiking, biking, relaxing and enjoy a quaint mountain village with an array of food/drink/shopping. As always the breakfasts are AMAZING and you won't be hungry again until dinner -that's a PROMISE! We have been coming here for more than 25 years and it never disappoints. We highly recommend this mountain getaway!

The Inn was so charming, welcoming, festively decorated for the holidays, and room was so comfortable. The breakfast was incredible with fresh eggs from the sweet front yard chickens. Highly recommend Live music downtown.

The best Inn to stay at if you want to hike in the Smokey Mountains and enjoy true relaxation with outstanding cuisine served by two kind and generous host and hostess, Toni and Scott. We went at Christmas time and the town was filled with Polar Express enthusiasts.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay so much. This old farmhouse reminded me so much of my grandparents house and the decorations brought back so many wonderful memories. The breakfast was awesome! We will never forget their hospitality.

We wanted a spur of the moment getaway for the weekend and found this website. Everything is just as described. Cute farmhouse with absolutely delicious breakfasts in the quiet countryside just minutes from the Smoky Mountains National Park, which we visited and saw 3 waterfalls. Very clean and nicely decorated. Owners can give recommendations for things to do and restaurants. We hope to return.
