Clifton Bristol|1.39km from Redland Chapel
Stayed here for two nights in September 2022. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is on the edge of Clifton, which appears to be a very affluent area. A twenty minute walk will take to to the Clifton suspension bridge to take in some lovely views. The bridge visitor centre and observation tower are well worth visiting. The number 8 bus which you get around the corner takes you into Bristol city centre in around 15/20 minutes, so all in all, a good location. The hotel offers a substantial free cooked and buffet breakfast which is why I am awarding it three stars. You will need to book a time slot. Now the not so good…………… Our room was on the ground floor and needs a refurb. A rotten window frame, mould in the shower and on the bathroom ceiling, a hole in the net curtain, an uneven wobbly floor and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling were not a great look. The bed and towels were clean, but despite the fact I was there for two nights and a couple of small towels were left on the floor, they weren’t changed, even though someone had clearly been into our room to provide biscuits for our tea and coffee (which i add, was a lovely gesture). Neither was our bed made. Now I realise the management will say if we had complained, we may have been moved, but that’s not the point. That room (room 11), would have been provided to another guest or guests if we had been moved. It just needs a refurb and then perhaps the next guest would give the hotel four stars. Really enjoyed Bristol. First time I have visited, but found it really interesting. Lots to see and do and the people are very friendly.

Because the Premier Inn (PI) hotel car park was quite small, I couldn’t find a parking slot one day and was suggested to park the car at the car park of holiday inn (HI). The staff said they would provide us a discount voucher. Later when we gave the HI car park entrance ticket to the PI hotel staff for the discount voucher, the staff JUST returned us with the discount voucher (which very much looked like the entrance ticket) but not with the entrance ticket as well. At that time we did not notice this. Until we wanted to drive out from the HI car park, we found that the one we got back from the PI staff was a voucher! We went back the PI for help and would like the staff to check whether the entrance ticket was left somewhere at the check-in counter at the lobby. It’s because when the voucher (which looked like the entrance ticket) was returned to us, we were sure that only the voucher was returned but not with the entrance ticket. However the staff became very rude and refused to check for us (she did not even called the staff who dealt with the car park voucher for us last time). I think she was very irresponsible! She just asked us to call the HI car park manager, who never caught our calls. We actually did not mind to pay the parking fee. We just wanted to drive out from the HI carpark. Finally, after 2 hours, problem was solved!! We were suggested by the HI carpark staff that we actually could simply press the button “lost ticket” on the pay machine located at the HI carpark and pay the fee. I think the PI staff should have provided us with more information about how we could deal with this problem and should have called her colleagues about the loss of HI carpark ticket. It must be somewhere at the PI check-in counter where we gave it to the staff earlier. Therefore, due to the irresponsibility of the rude staff, I don’t really recommend staying at this hotel if you drive to Bristol. On the other hand, other staff were polite, helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful time at this charming hotel, as if we were staying in a merchant's house. The staff were exceptionally friendly, making our experience truly memorable. The hotel provided a fantastic opportunity to relax and explore all that the historic city of Bristol has to offer, including the 6 O'clock Gin Distillery, the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained, creating a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. We have to give a special thanks to Graca, Millia and Nushu from the pub who made our evenings truly enjoyable. The kitchen also offered excellent breakfasts. We were left full of impressions from this city of once a wealthy merchant, and now a young student thanks to the University of Bristol.

Booked one of the Mews houses for us, our daughter and her boyfriend to stay in on the night of the night of her graduation. It was perfect. 2 bedrooms plenty large enough, both can be set up with large double bed or twins. One is ensuite and there's a separate bathroom. Robes, slippers and L'Occitane toiletries provided. The bedrooms and utility room are downstairs with a good sized open plan living area upstairs. Fairly well equipped kitchen as far as I could tell. ( we didn't cook but I checked). Furnishings and fittings are obviously fairly new and everything is good quality and the whole place was spotless. In short we absolutely couldn't fault it. Our only regret? That we weren't staying longer. For anyone looking for accommodation near the University of Bristol it's close and I'd absolutely recommend this place

Good standard of accomodation - studio with plenty of room for two. It was clean and had everything we needed. Plus the added bonus of actually being able to open windows! Easy to find and about 25 mins walk from the main centre. But very near Whiteladies Road with a fantastic choice of bars and places to eat, plus a couple of small supermarkets. Free parking available at rhe back. Booking was easy, communication Good and efficient. Checking in was contactless and easy. Check out 11.00 am which was also a bonus. Only issue was I asked if we could leave our car in the carpark on check out day, knowing that folk couldn't check in before 4pm. I was told that we could but we would be charge £5.00 !an hour!! Needless to say we.didnt! ! Overall though, we would stay again!!

I booked a 2 bed apartment for 2 nights in January as I was booked in to the Spire Hospital for an operation. The apartment looked just like the photos, it was easy to access and it was clean. We booked a parking space as the on-road parking is busy. While I initially thought it was expensive on arrival it was apparent that paying three additional cost is necessary. We had a contactless check in and all of the information we needed was sent to me well in advance and it was accurate which meant check in was fast. I had a 2 bed apartment with both bedrooms being double rooms and my room had an en-suite which was super useful when I was discharged from the hospital. Both bedrooms had TVs and large wardrobes. There is an ironing board and iron and fans. The curtains in both rooms are heavy blackout curtains, there was not a slither of light getting through those curtains. The main bathroom was large with a shower, bath and sink. The livening space is an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped and was really handy for me so that I could eat at 4am because I was unable to eat or drink after 6am. It was also really useful when I got back from the hospital so that I could heat up some soup but it enabled mom to cook herself an evening meal. Everything we needed was readily available and clean. The dining table is a lovely round glass table and the seating area had two large leather sofas. One sofa had rips and tears but it was covered by a lovely blanket. The decor is simple but beautiful. There was some noise from the apartment upstairs but it stopped around 10pm. The location of the apartment was great for what I needed, it was literally 5 minute drive from the hospital. It is in a lovely area which was quiet and made me feel happier at leaving mom in a strange space while I was in hospital. The apartment is a short walk from the high street and we walked it several times over the few days we were there for food and drinks. I have been to Bristol a few times and love the city. We loved our stay in Clifton and I will be back to see more of Clifton and I would like to stay here again the next time I visit. For a change, the apartment is exactly as stated and shown in the pictures.

Visited to settle offspring into University. The best feature for me was the small lockable hotel garage, which meant a car full of student ‘stuff’ could be safely left overnight- gave tremendous peace of mind. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There was a reliable lift. Racks restaurant also had responsive, efficient staff, and the food was palatable. I expected the location to be much quieter than was the case, there was a lot of noise from outside, including happy drunks and traffic. Whiteladies road, with a wide choice of cafes and restaurants is within walking distance and Clifton village and The Downs a short drive away. On-road parking is mainly permit for residents and pay & display parking is extremely limited. We booked single rooms for a short stay, but they were extremely small, so if staying longer, you would definitely want a larger room. Overall, a good place. The secure parking was the outstanding feature for me.
