The Royal Bridlington

A good place to base yourself with a group of golfing friends with easy access to courses on the North Yorkshire coast. Breakfasts are excellent and the staff are very accommodating. I shared a garden room(15) with a buddy and fresh towels were provided daily. The room itself however had a musty smell probably due to damp or poor ventilation. The bed was fine. No bar facility although there seemed to be one but no longer in use. As a group of 12 we went around the corner to a hotel for evening drinks and food. Reviews are interesting on this venue but remember it is not a hotel!

Saw a negative comment about this place so was a little concerned. we went to this hotel for 2 nights in Bridlington where we stayed at the ground floor the royal lodge where the room is clean and tidy and Tim who is one of the staff who works at the Royal hotel did a good job finding the correct room for us to stay for 2 nights. I had no need to be. Yes my room was small but it was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. Tea/ coffee and TV. It’s not the Savoy but it’s not Savoy prices. It is in a great location , 10 mins walk in to town , 100 yards to the sea front , car parking … and most important a top full English breakfast. Lots of other breakfast choices though and hopefully we go again to the Royal in Bridlington hopefully in the future.

There was no hot water, poster in reception says on slow season when there is not much guests need to run the hot water for some time. I run it for 30 min and it was still ice cold.

A pleasant hotel in a good location, a short 5-10 minute walk away from all the main attractions. The room interior was somewhat dated and could really do with an update and a deep clean, but it was perfectly ok for one nights stay for us. The main reason we gave this a five star review was the breakfast in the morning - the owner had cooked it to order perfectly and there was a good selection of buffet items you could pick from. Service was very attentive and we both really enjoyed the food.

This hotel is horrendous, dirty and out dated. 12 of us stayed 2 nights but never again. The pictures speak for itself, even the towels had a damp smell. We could have put up with it being outdated but the place was filthy.

The location is good - near the beach and Spa. The food is outstanding - probably the best breakfast we’ve ever had during our many visits to Bridlington.
