Honeyguide Ranger Camp
4.5/52 Reviews
My wife and I were desperate for a bush weekend. We chose Honeyguide Ranger Camp for its affordable winter 3 night special and it's closeness to joburg. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by our lovely ranger Stephan and taken to our tent, which was in the bush and surrounded by trees. We were subsequently upgraded to a bigger tent due to the host being worried we would hear their building upgrades they were doing at the time. The accommodation was nothing short of great and super comfortable! Crisp white linen and a huge bed. At night our beds were turned down, our hot blankets put on, and the mozzie net closed. There is a safe in the room to lock up things if you wanted. Two games drives were included daily. And our lovely ranger Stephan made them super interesting and made sure we got to see as much as possible. We got to see two lion kills, Cheetah and a few other awesome sightings, where we were the only ones watching. Afternoons were often spent lounging in the hide lounge and watching animals big and small come to drink at the waterhole. Or lying by the pool looking out onto the wide open plain. The meals were delicious and laid on with huge spreads for both breakfast and dinner. Lunch was plated as there were only 4 of us staying at the camp that weekend. Nights included a 3 course meal. We ate both at the pool and in the boma. Nights were spent around the boma bonfire chatting about the days activities, drinking wine and looking at stars. We highly recommend Honeyguide Ranger Camp and will definitely be back. Thank you to the lovely staff who made it a very special weekend.
