Hotel Anand International

This hotel deserves an excellent rating for its restaurant alone! The hotel itself is quite worn, the rooms are dated, but it has everything you need to freshen up, sleep, and eat. Towels are changed daily, there's no problem with water, and the room temperature is quite comfortable. And, most importantly, there's a restaurant serving international cuisine where you can eat almost European food for a reasonable price. Before this place, we spent a week in India (Delhi, Varanasi), and we never had a decent meal, but here, the dishes resemble European cuisine; if you say "not spicy," they'll make it non-spicy. We specifically returned from exploring Bodh Gaya to this hotel for lunch, and we always had dinner; one portion for two is quite enough. Overall, this hotel is a shining example of "being" rather than "seeming" – people will tolerate outdated "guts" if you have decent service. I never write such a phrase, but this time I will write it - if we come to Bodh Gaya again, we will stay here.

The room facilities were a bit old, but the cleanliness was excellent, and the service was outstanding, especially the two managers at the front desk and Pawan, the restaurant waiter, who were very enthusiastic and friendly in serving guests. The breakfast selection was plentiful, although it remained largely the same for both weeks I stayed.

I liked everything. The staff was friendly, they greeted me with joy and helped me with my requests. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is a buffet with a variety of dishes. The location is convenient: not too close and not too far. Be careful with local rickshaw drivers: they often overcharge tourists for rides to attractions. Be sure to visit the Mahakala Cave, 10 km from the center of Bodh Gaya.

The location is near the train station. There is a lively night market downstairs. The room is beautifully decorated and the toilet and bathroom are clean.
