This is a purpose-built Ibis adjoining the railway station at Blankenberge. It is clean and modern, and uses personalised entry codes for the lift and rooms for added security. The rooms are very basic and sparse but are thoughtfully arranged to make the most of the space. There is a drop-down shelf which serves as a desk, and a folding chair is provided. There were plenty of electrical outlets and USB charging points. I found the bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise with a good-sized shower. Even with the window open I was not disturbed by the trains outside. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate, though there are probably better options available in town. There was a bit of a mix-up over the price of the breakfast (I ended up getting charged twice) though this was easily sorted out in a few minutes. All in all I was very happy, but had I been staying longer or with somebody else, I would probably go for the Mercure next door.

A very pleasant hotel indeed. The room and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty, very good quality and variety. Excellent coffee. Walking distance to railway station for an 11 minute train to Bruge that goes every hour. Lifts are slow, separate toilet in room have rough floor and smell a bit - a better chemical should be used. Communication skills of reception and booking staff could be better - there was a misunderstanding regarding a price I was supposed to pay and an unnecessary argument arose. Eventually by booking directly at the hotel website I had the best price, as promised.
