Can’t comment on the hotel itself only the horrible owners. Visited a neighbouring apartment for 1 night, mistakingly parked in the Marsden hotel car park which is obviously a fault of my own- I wasn’t aware of this the full time I was here until I tried to leave. There were no signs up stating this was a privately owned car park or parking for residents only. My car was blocked in leaving me unable to exit the car park, when hotel staff were politely approached to ask if the car could be moved so I could exit the car park my friend was spoken to like complete dirt, absolutely shocking attitude from 2 grown adults towards a young woman, made to feel totally stupid for an easy mistake. The male was rude enough without the woman piping up with a rotten attitude, again against a young woman standing alone. Was not once asked to move my car, which I absolutely would have if asked, I would have had no issues at all with this. I was told I was taking up 2 spaces even though there are no lines to mark spaces. After checking the hotels website it clearly states ‘Free Public Parking is possible on site’ so no idea why I was told to pay £20 to be allowed to leave- not sure this is legal, were they planning on holding us in the car park if we refused to pay? Im sure holding someone against their will isn’t legal either, but I might be wrong! If they were so bothered about my car being parked there they should’ve phoned the police. The owners should be embarrassed, looking to argue with someone 20/30 years younger than them over a parking space.
